i handed the car over to my dad on the drive home, we took the scenic route lol and had fun chasing a bmw x3 over the b roads lol why the hell it was even trying to lose the ignis over such twisty roads, he didnt have a chance in hell of pulling away from us. lol

Stuck the ignis on a ramp this afternoon and gave her a small service ready for dyno on sunday!

shes had an engine flush new oil and filter, a fuel system treatment and new gearbox oil (box feels much better now)

gave everything a check over as well and it all looks good.

also gona order magnecor leads now.

then clean the plugs and air filter later this week.

Got the final part of the exhaust sorted today at longlife

2" middle section, and i opted to get rid of the mid silencer, was worried it would be loud but its all good, no different really, maybe a bit raspier.

car seems to pull a bit better now, although it might just be in my head lol soon see tommorow on the dyno!

also had the car washed, and i cleaned up some bits and bobs on it ready for tommorow.

also removed the suzuki stickers from the mudflaps as the were hanging off and looking tatty, they look much better now imo.

unfortunately my magnecor leads didnt turn up in time for dyno, never mind, they will go on next week. might change plugs too.

Anyway rolling road day sunday, had a feeling it was gona be low on power but on the day on the way to the dyno it was flying, it actually felt like it was gona put out good power.

on the dual carriageway on the way there it was keeping up with a fiesta st, mountune fiesta zetec s and jonys mk3 fiesta si 1.8 zetec which made 133bhp (i was actually catching him at one point, and i left 2 puma'd fiesta zetec s' for dead.

anyway, the car made 112.7bhp at the fly and 103.9lbft.

88.5bhp at the wheels and 82.7lbft of torque.

i suppose its better than standard but for what its got on it surely it should be about 120bhp?

although i believe theres definately something up with it, i have an intermittant flat spot which i cant find under diagnostic check, so its proving to be a pain in the arse to cure. so maybe the car was pushing out good power on the way there but was flat on the dyno??

thanks to paul from partbox for sorting out speedy delivery on my magnecor leads, unfortunately they didnt come in time for the dyno run, but i fitted them monday night after work, and inspected the plugs while i was at it.

next job now is to find out why im getting this flat spot.. i believe it may be the universal lambda sensor i fitted from ebay after the other one siezed in the manifold.

but i might also order a jr panel filter from partbox, so then at least ill know the air filters a tidy new one, not like the cheapy cone i have at the moment.

anyway at least it didnt make 99bhp at the fly like it did last time. lol

Road racing all depends on whats gears your in and all that, i'm sure you all weren't going standing start off the lights F&F style lol

I was on the motorway with my mate in his standard puma and he pulled away from me because I was in completley the wrong gear and then a way down the line I flew past. Also standing race I was gone!

But yeah, i'm not saying your cars slow or anything, just so many factors :) I'd be happy with that power increase with the mods you have.

theres something up with the car, im pretty confident that its the lambda sensor. it should be 120bhp+ with the mods ive got, but at the moment least its better than standard.

as for the little blast we had, the 6 of us were in line at the traffic light and we all shot off to about 80, one of the pumad fiestas made 108bhp on dyno with catback and de-cat (which was well underpower) and the other which was also underpower made 116bhp and was stripped out. the onbe lad actually came up to me after and complimented on how quick the ignis was, he didnt realise it was only a 1.5 lol i dont think it would beat a up to scratch one though, maybe when its running right, although at the time it was going well.

heers for the comments though guys.

and jonys car done better than last time too, hes changed the filter, sorted his exhaust fitted a 1.8 sandwich plate and kent cams and its given him 7bhp more.
