Morning guys.

Anyway, I'm getting fed up spending money on cars all the god damn time.
It's bad enough paying fuel and tax and buying new tyres and fixing things.

But planning a mental spec road car is always gonna cost alot of money.
The shell isnt the best of shells to be throwing loads of money at.

So I reckon, I'm gonna bin off the turbo idea... finish what I planned body wise and leave the car as a 2.0ltr... ffs a stripped out, caged, cammed, 2.0ltr zetec should keep me entertained enough. And a turbo build will give me too many headaches, specially as a daily car. I do 40 miles a day monday-friday for work, and a 2nd cheaper car is out of the question.

So I will finish the mods I had planned.. as most of the parts maybe bar the cage can be moved onto another mk3, well the majority of the parts could be used on any mk3 mk4 mk5 or ka shell if wanted in the future.

This might look like me giving up, well it is. I can't be arsed with the hassle anymore.

Thats fair enough Paul, fuel costs alone are getting silly, and turbo's arnt known for sipping fuel in small quantities

Think your plans sound good, and a turbo build in the future, maybe as a track car or something should be good

Aye. I can live with the car with it's current engine. Its fast enough day to day and I'll be able to have fun on track as its still gonna be stripped to bits and caged lol.

I like the look and sound of that mazda, pretty cheap for what it is!

TBH my next daily, is going to be comfortable and nippy. I miss my Mondeo, yes it was only a 1.8 zetec but it looked good and was comfortable. Tempted to get a newer mondeo or something.

I would love boost in a fiesta. I really would.

But I'm being realistic here.
It's a daily car.
Its stupid enough as it is.
I've thrown enough money at it.
I'd rather have money for other things.
I do not have the choice of getting a 2nd car anymore, nowhere to store the Si.
It'll be about as reliable as a chocolate teapot.
I already have a cammed 2.0ltr in a stripped fiesta, that is fun enough.
I'm 25.

I agree with your thoughts, it seemed fun a sixfields so stripped I bet its even better.
Maybe one day you'll have the space to store a car, best thing I did was get a newer car, my si would of give me Jip by now but the focus is doing well lol.
I find also speed isn't everything, I get more of a buzz going round bends, sometimes I think a good handling diesel for that huge push they give but I'm enjoying high revs atm.

Exactly.. speed isnt everything at all, I love B roads, cornering, all that fun.

I won't be getting rid any time soon, so I'm gonna enjoy it. I doubt I'll ever have space to store a car for a long while, so when I've had enough I'll just sell it, or more likely break it for bits.

Had it on the road 6 months now, and so far I have not had any major problems. So I wouldnt want to ruin that.. its a realiable car! with some guts.


If it werent for driving to newcastle and back on the weekends I would have kept the Mondeo. I needed to jump to the Scrote for eco reasons at the time, bloody women.

TBH I miss the Scrote too. Didnt have to give a shit about it... Not that I give a shit about my Fiesta

Ahhh I thought you would be the one to go thrpugh with the plan!

But I feel exactly the same as you. Fed up of having no money each month.
