My Si standard speakers are well up to the job, well the front one has started making this buzzing noise a bit, AVE THAT YOU CRAPPY STANDARD SYSTEM RARRRR ! :lol:

Don't bother changing the rear speakers. Spend double the amount on the front speakers instead. The fronts are badly positioned, but the rear are even worse. Buy some components for the front and you'll have a far better sound than 2-ways in the front and back. Personally I wouldn't put anything in the back shelf either as this drags the sound stage to the rear of the car. Clever EQ'ing will sort out the poor position of the doors along with decent placement of the tweeters.

Depends how far you want to go with it, but if you're planning on running a sub then the 5 1/4" / 13cm speakers in the front will be ok. If you're going to run your system 'sub-less' then maybe you could fit 6 1/2" speakers and build your own door pods. They will stick out more but the greater excursion of the cone will give you greater overall volume, larger bandwidth and enable you to angle the speaker so its more directed at your ears, rather than your calves.

13cm in the front. Get some componants, i had MB Quart in the front of mine and disconnected the rears, + a 12" Sub. I recessed the tweeters into the top top of the dashboard with a little assistance but looked the part and sounded awesome.

If you wanna keep rears, halfrauds do an adapter to make them a 13cm speaker, or you can anialate your parcel shelf and look proper bo!

Unless you sit in the back, you don't need rears. My personal opinion though. Sod the passengers, they can always walk!
