Should easily have the tail out with abit of throttle coming round bends at slow speed lol.
I can get the old rwd transits at work to kick out a tad when its wet.

Youll be fine, enjoy the rwd experience, will be loads more fun in the old car than new as theres no computer stopping you lol

Sorry to say but there right, you know i loved my mk3 more than anything i would of kept that if it wasnt for constant money on rust. Unless you've got the time and coin like dave, adam, terry etc then they easiest way to avoid issues like this in future is to sell up.

im very attached to the car, spent tons on it, and its a great car, why scrap it?
ive repaired far worse


and kris, ford are NOT the only things that rust

Nothing to do with fords mate, just saying for what youve done spec wise and the money spent on a pretty low spec engine to begin with you could have a decent car.. Take my mg for example... Totally standard spec, sub £1000 car.. Is 8 years younger and has 30bhp and god knows how much more torque..

Alot of the older members on here have all gone down the same route in the end ..

yours has 30bhp more as rover spent more time and money producing that before it was sold, eg cams four branch and better inlet... and it has 2lbs/ft more torque than mine mate ;)
(thats not taking into account my cams as it was roaded before the cams)

perks of high lift cams, it doesnt increase torque as well as it does power


not arguing just saying :P

end of the day i dont like the 25/ZR much


i love mk3's thats why ive had 5 of them

going to agree with jony here you bitches ;) my bloody arches are starting to rust from when i rolled them... hey ho, got a fair bit of rust, but i see it as a car for life (track day toy in the future when i have more experience)... just an exciting car in general, id get bored of newer shit, and i dont think they'd be as easy to fix with all that computer shit going on?

whats the offence with the engine?

it failed on rust and a brake pipe you know?

my engine is a 1997 escort engine, pulls very well, serviced every 10,000 miles or less, is making close enough to 130bhp and fetches just over 250miles per tank/£50 of petrol, has tons of torque and makes a lovely sound when i floor it

just dont see where this has come from lol

ive not even spent that much on it, four branch was £90, granted the cams were a mistake, the guy told me they were fast road spec but they were only mild, they were £180 and when i bought the engine 3 years ago it cost me £120 but i actually profited £30 in the end

inlet cost me £30 over 2 years ago and apart from servicing and a few sensors has cost me bugger all and never let me down, evenw hen its head gasket went it was still road worthy, just slowly burning water :D

ooh btw the car has done 111000 miles and is a fiesta.... your all fools not to expect rust and a failed mot now and then :lol: :insanity:

but we/I love them and it doesnt matter what it needs doing or how many cold nights out in the garage cursing over the problem, we dont give up on them because we love the car and working on it is always a rewarding challenge

it aint the fastest, prettiest or most modern of cars but if that shit mattered none of us would stick with them :halo:
