bought some nice toys for the ignis today from a local lad.

first one is a scorpion backbox

only thing is its missing the tip section, didnt like the big oval scorpion tip anyway so its going to longlife thursday to be fitted up with a 3" outward rolled tip.

i wil then eventually be getting a custom middle section made up to meet with this bad boy!

its a custom japspeed 4-1 manifold.

planning on heatwrapping it, then will get longlife to fit it once ive saved some more money up, will do the middle section the same time then..

the manifolds gona need the lambda sensors wiring extended so they will do that for me, and they will also fit a device then which stops the engine managment light coming on with the de-cat.

once ive got the exhaust all sorted and a tidy air intake, and a good service, it will be going back on the rollers, i will hope by then it should be somewhere around 120bhp.

also changed the cone filter for the standard airbox today, wish i hadnt now though, its no where near as responsive or quick now.

scorpion backbox was fitted today up at longlife.

ended up having to pay more though coz it wouldnt fit straight on, the flanges between the backbox and middle section were in different places.

anyway its on now with a lovely 3" outward rolled tip, which looks much better than the big oval scorpion tip i think.

heres how it looks, pics are crap though, will get better ones in the light.

was a bit bored after work this afternoon so gave the ignis a quick clean inside and out. (although the outside got a bit dirty on the way home) lol

i also decided to strip the grill down and remove the big black plastic bit behind it to let a bit more air into the bay.

update:

had one of the lads in my works fit the manifold today!! i didnt bother heatwrapping it in the end, it would only end up falling apart! lol

also had him remove the air con system while he was at it as well, so saved a bit of weight there with the pump etc also helped him free up some space to work lol there wasnt even any gas in it lol

had a slight problem with the lambda sensors though, pre cat one seized in the standard manifold and stripped the threads so thats fudged now.

so at the moment number 2 sensor is currently sitting in number one hole and number 2 hole is blanked.

so im running one lambda sensor at the moment, but will be sorting that all out asap, need to lenghthen the wires on them too so they reach the holes.

also had to make a temp flange (which is blowing a bit) to meet the standard middle section, but that will be sorted when it goes to longlife again, next week hopefully!

im gona get them to get shot of the restrictive 1.75in middle section and replace it with a nice free flowing 2" middle section, like the scorpion system has.

i also replaced the standard flexible rubber mounts on the backbox the other night with stiffer poweflex polyurethane ones, as it was swaying back and for and hitting the body, so thats sorted now too!

havent driven it much yet but sounds lovely and seems to respond much quicker, once ive sorted the lambda sensors out now it should be running lovely.
