Broke down today, top end seems to be pinging like an absolute bitch. So thats the top end gone

It's now sat in southampton awaiting a puma engine i've given up!

Personally, I think it looks wicked now. Bar the rust and a bit of paintwork when I see it I think "Epic" Then I remember its shit and keep breaking!! So I hate it.

It does look epic, it actually suite black wheels perfectly with those lights and black trim.

So are serious about the puma lump, will be best option imo.

Yeah i'm selling the lights next week though, even though they make the rear end look great I can't turn down the £100 + standards tbh thats a lot of money for some lights and I need money!

Front end looks mean as well even with the purple grill, the wheels were what let it down before really, might still take off the mirrors but will give it a clean one day and take some pictures and see how I feel

pinking isnt always a sign its 'fucked' and needs scrapping. it could be pre-ignition (although its more common on carb'd cars). this could be caused by badly seated valves or weak valves, a malformation/damage to a piston surface, running too hot due to a cooling problem or a lean fuel ratio. have a little check into a few easy fixes before kicking it in the cunt and puma'ing it but also when does it start pinking or does it do it all the time ? there are a few things you could do to prevent it. like if it pinking going up a hill in 3rd, drop it to 2nd to reduce the load or reducing the amount of throttle you are giving it when it pinks. could also try higher octane fuel and see if that helps ? ...OR when you say its pinking do you mean its knocking ? lol

pinking = detonation or spark knock at college we learned about and called it 'pinking' so ive always called it that, thats all but it can be called many things

One knacered 1.6, any thoughts on whats wrong with it? Doesn't turn over by hand.



It's all in and test driven by the guy who fitted and he says it loves to pop and works fine! So looking foward to getting it back tommorow, just gonna need a new cambelt at some point as I don't know the history only that its been done once before and has had a waterpump
