Hey guys

I got a ticket from CPS enforment last december when i was parked at my friends flat (in his allocated parking space ) he had lost his parking permit when his girlfriend moved out and is still waiting for a replacement but he gave me a letter with his address and then a note explaining we were waiting for a replacement permit but i was allowed to be there.

My friend spoke to his landlord and then called the company to tell them that i was allowed to be there. Im pretty sure it got heated but i wasn't involved so not 100%.

I have now received a formal demand for money and I am about to send a letter to appeal (as it says on the formal demand that appeals will only be considered in writting) but i wanted to know if any of you had any experience with this company. I was told by a couple of friends that they arent allowed to take it any further but wondered if you had experience in this matter.

Either way I have appealed and hopefully it will get sorted but as a last resort I wondered if you knew any thing.

Only local councils can enforce any parking regulations, all the other carpark monkeys rely on cleverly worded signs and pressurising letters to get people to pay up!!

so dont even have to send an appeal letter? just checking because a friend has told me that they may have a licence and it may be wise to appeal just incase. what do you reckon?

I'd speak with the people who own the flats first to see if it's an independent company in which case they have next to no powers to get money from you, if its council or a company employed by the housing group then send an appeal letter!! That's the way if play it mate!!
