your persistance is amazing, mine would be wearing thin by now

Well everytime it's literally one small thing, I sort out the other bits, then one more little thing gets in the way, so it's been a constant battle of "just one more thing" and i've spent the money now, I don't want to get rid of it or sell it for pennies or anything like that.

I just want it running and working as I love it so much when it does go, its so much fun and I could just have it for a good few years.

One more thing!! I hope.

UGH so the valves have fucked the head up...

mate would have been sooo much cheaper to inspect it first realise this, then buy another engine instead,

now you need (bought now i know) valves... pistons... rings... bearings AND now a head


only upside is its practicly going to be rebuilt

Valves were free, pistons were 70 and bearing were 30.

Hopefully it wont need a new head but that'll only be about 50 up the scrapyard, Engines are £200+ on ebay, wont see it running and it will come with a £60 delivery charge.

Plus I don't have anyone that would want to swap the engine for me, although there are a couple friends on ZSOC who said it this doesn't get fixed this time there coming down on there week off thats coming up and putting a new engine in it

Yeah they might not be little but its always just the one thing, that I think that one thing then its sorted..

Totally screwed head.

Got a new head, new pistons, new bearings.

Danny bless him was out all day fitting it all even when it got to -2. Can't thank him enough for being out there til about 10 doing it!

Would have been all done but came across yet another bump in the road




Tried fitting standards but my two pairs are mixed up and couldn't get the right combinaton.

Got a set coming and I think i've figured out which is which now as well. Got a mate coming Tuesday hopefully to finish it off.. Unless something else goes wrong. All it needs is standard cams in and throwing back together.

if your doing the pistons you will need a brand new bottom end as you cant replace the shims

Yeah literally done all the cam caps up finger tight, started doing up one bolt, literally a few turns on the bolt and it snapped At first I thought I had dropped something because it made a really strange ping type noise, searched all over, couldn't see anything then went to carry on doing it up after 10mins of searching and saw that

Yeah when I can get some cams in that are right should be in Tuesday fingers crossed.

If I want another SS4 it's £245 I'm currently talking to the guy at Shawspeed but I don't know what he can do for me.
