3rd + 4th are the best gears and 0-60 means jack shit - not excuses just my opinion.

garage rang - had all pipes off and cant see blockage - which means its either in engine or head issue - taking it apart is min £500 - fail - so i'm picking it up today and praying its ok - see what its like and go from there..

You could always pick up a cheap 1.6 and get a day with a couple peeps and swap it over?

0-60 isnt everything, there is always a faster car and besides you can get cars that are built for quarter mile and cars that are built for top speed then a car ahich is slower in both respects but could paste them both on track.

I enjoy the facts and figures of cars but when its your own you just want it to drive good otr we would all be driving stripped out tins.

well my zs isnt great 0-60 but 3rd from 50mph say is quite good

in gear times ftw

and well if i pick it up and all is well then yay

torque is what pulls you out of high gear at low speeds, like you said 3rd doing 50, i have lovely over taking torque to pull me at 70 in 5th in a matter of seconds im doing 90

think this boads down to opinion, well i believe 0-60 times are an important figure, id ont like plowing at top speeds, 1 im a wuss and 2 i know ill just get cough 1 day

got it back - with warning that it may still piss about as a plastic restrictor in one of the hoses has broken and a piece of this maybe stuck in a waterway, acting like a flap, causing my issue.

if it is - head off, new cambelt + headgasket plus sorting at garage will be £500 min

Pricey, just think what you could buy with that, if your adament about this engine then good look to you.
