one for phil, i know he was concerned

didnt take any pictures of the ride height, still have the drivers front fit, front is too low, rubbing on part of the wing, and some of the arch and bumper, will do some trimming tomorrow, failing that ill bare it untill i get 45s on the front

backs are perfect, great height and no rubbing, was fine with 30s on the front and 60s on back but if i do that i wont be able to lower the 1.4 off dan
mind saying that might just fuck that lol and lower it later on :P
still have my original springs :halo:

infact think ill do that

got the fog light to fit also, and i bought a pair of amber bulbs so i can now smash out the filter in the MHW's, something ive been waiting to do

waiting on tom peters to get back to me about ordering a pair of rear anti roll bar brackets as one has snapped, also need to tighten the layden valve on the beam as it was an advisory, had a check and it is rediculasly slack

im not keeping the 60s on the front, took my mate to work today who is about 14st, rubbed like a cunt all the way, reminded me how much a pain the mk4 was to drive, im NOT going through that again with a daily, just isnt worth it

ill paint the springs to match the red gmax ones

thanks for the comments

Get 45 profile tyres, problem solved :) My car is down probably 60mm if not more on the front and it hardly scrubs at all :)

it may rub depends on wheel offset as well, as its on ford wheels you might get away with rubbing arches, as terry had his si 60mm years ago with gti wheels on 45s, I had the same but with halfords specials and need arches trimmed, also had it 60mm on si rims and the front arches were sitting on the tyres but no matter what u do u will need 45s

nice work mate.

thats a funky looking tyre machine, never seen one like that before, how does it clamp the wheel? mines like the one on the left but better..

whats the uniroyal rain experts 2 like?

like the wind deflectors they look cool. :D gona buy some for the ignis soon.

be better on 45 profile tyres, and quicker.. you might be able to pull away from me then :insanity: lol

is it stiffer with the dampers?

use the apex springs and gmax dampers?

then stick the 60mm on mine, i wont rub, because everythings been rubbed away lol you have to lower mine or you cant buy it ;)

cheers for the tips phil

when i bought this car i promised myself things wouldnt get out of hand, and that any mod it recieves will have to be sensible and not ruin it as a daily use car, so the 60s are not going on the front, the backs are fine, odd as i was sure the 15mm spacers would cause troubles

i will hang onto the 60 fronts so one day after getting 45 profiles on i can fit them again

but for now im fitting the 30s to the front :)

the drive home from the tyre workshop made the rainsports seem good, but thats all ive had the chance to do, dispite driving to swansea twice i done it with 3 60mm springs and dampers and 1 30mm on standard so i didnt drive hard

the tyre machione was awsome, it done most the work for him, he just fine tunes the positions using joy sticks, was about 6 sticks, all the contact parts were plastic, and i think the clamp was on a spindle that clamps to the hub hole inside the wheel

other machine like on the left are crude and so easily damage expensive alloys, plus mine are painted

he had a less sophisticated one before that one which was similar but he still had to use a lever bar

the machine looks expensive lol

sadly dan the way im lowering this, the 1.4 will be on standard springs untill i get others

heres the current ride height, bit naff as its 60/30 on the front remember

Apex spring, bit tatty now, its been on 3 dampers in its life after its on my gmax :/

cleaned and painted red to match the gmax, yellow on yellow is bland

aww it sits so nice with 60s on it. keep them and get 45 profiles.

ahh its one of those new machines, did he have to use a lever at all? my boss wont buy me one of those lol.

the one on the left like i have in work is fine. only wankers who havent got a clue what they are doing damage wheels.. ive been doing it 2 and a half years now and havent damaged a wheel once.. which im proud of. lol

those machines cost about 5-6 grand lol

boring, that car hasnt had standard suspension for 3 and a half years lol. it will get all confused haha

haha calm down man it probs wont see the road while its using standard springs anyway, thats if i even fit them i plan to make it quite protected before its sitting on its own legs again

meaning it will likely get most its underseal removed for practice when i do my Si, curing any rust and appling hammerite, tourmallard has a very close match with hammerite smooth green so will use that colour, fuck knows what colour my Si will get

not sure how long your willing to keep hold of it for? as i think ill need to get the capri sorted first, mainly coz i wont have room for it, capri is road legal till end of march, hope to get it ready for them, but progress wont fly as i wont have much time now im working full time ya know

but if you can keep it till april id be very greatful :)
