So, the new engine is in, running, and perfect.

Totally fucking worth it!!!

Its still running the Si gearbox, but its all good. Will eventually get an escort one with an LSD I think though lol. Or just hunt for an LSD and put it in my spare escort gti box.

I'll basically let the pictures do the talking!

How it all started...

Old engine out

Lifting the car up to get the old engine out

End of day one I basically stipped the old engine down a fair bit then transfered all the bits onto the 2 litre engine.

Day 2 started as follows.

New engine built up, new clutch on there too, but didnt get a picture.

Going in, covered up of course lol

A while later, new rocker cover on ect ect, all plumed in, wired up. DONE!

FILTHY car on the floor.

Random one of me at the end of the day

Was it all worth it???

She runs beautifully, doesn't miss a beat, no knocks or rattles, nothing wrong with it at all.

In actual fact, the whole car feels better to drive, all the little problems there was with it got sorted while it was all being worked on, so thats a bonus. Killed 2 birds with 1 stone there, as they say.

Yeah I've been out for a spin a few times, went out after I let the fan kick in and checked all the levels, I put my foot down and was like WOW! It just pulls like a train! Even 5th gear at 40, it pulls.

Overall I'm well happy with the effort thats gone into it, its all seemed worth it!

Brilliant, pleased for you that its running really well too, makes all that effort seem even more worth it

it makes you feel like its the fastest thing you can ever own those first few times you plant it, its sad to think it was 1 and half years since i experianced it

aww wanny some TB's

my advice would be enjoy it as it is for 6 months or so, then add power, so you keep getting that surging enjoyment, or you risk getting bored easy

every enthusiast craves more speed

were having a rolling road day in bridgend in south wales 1st of april come down if you cant get into your old works one

will be about Â£35 if we get the numbers
