Hi guys,

I was trying to take the EGR out of my exhaust manifold and one of the nuts has jammed in and the head has clean come off. Would any Mk3/Mk3.5/Mk4/Mk5 Exhaust manifold work?

Also, the alternator wiring has corroded, again, does this come off quite easily from the battery and does it have to be from a Zetec to fit?

I beleive the exhaust manifold can only be from a zeta fiesta, like mk3 Si 16v/ Ghia 16v/ RS1800/ XR2i 16v.
And i think the alternator can be from any mk3/3.5 not sure on that though mate

Manifold has to come from a silvertop engine, be it a mk3 16v fiesta or an escort or some type, they are all the same in terms of diameter ect from what I have read so shouldn't be a problem.

Alternator wiring is easy to come off, just a couple of bolts, I think any mk3 one would work, not 100% sure though, you'd have to take yours off and check against one that you are getting.

I've got one of the guys at work trying to get the EGR out of my manifold, if that doesnt work i'll be at teh scrappy tomorrow for the alternator wiring so will try and find a silvertop to rob from.
Failing that Will, i'll take you up on that if you do find one!

Escort GTI would be the manifold of choice, but the chances of there being one at the scrappies is fairly slim.. but I shall keep my fingers crossed

It doesnt matter if its from a 1.6 or a 1.8, they are both the same

Well, got the egr plug out an saw a non egr silver top one at the scrappy. Couldn't get te bloody thing out though as it was sitting on the hubs and I didn't have my hacksaw with me. Was gutted!!

No mk3s though so haven't got alternator wiring, will get some crimps from halfords and make do for now. If anyone has a spare one kicking about let me know

Fired her up for the first time today after sticking the 2.0ltr in. Bit noisy with no centre box or egr plugs but she runs better than I thought considering the engine has sat in bits in my garage for 3 years
