Great to see that my project is still alive and strong, thanks so much for the kind words too guys :)

If there was any way that I could have feasibly kept this car, I would have in a heartbeat - times are hard and as a father of two with a house to pay for and my wife only doing part-time work, I had to let it go :(

Seeing these new pics of it have made me happy beyond belief - I am more than happy to help out the new owner with any tech info they require (and buy it back if I come across some sponds! )

All the best, Jim Eshelby. ;)

Second note of the day:

The turbo is extremely close to the brake linkage bar. I'm sure read in jimmy build that he had quite alot of clearance.

Was only an issue when it didnt have the rear engine mount bolted in because the engine rocked, as such, and sat in a position where it was very close. This in turn would cause the downpipe to sit down low (which it is)

Now im wondering whether the rear engine mount is shagged. Really need to get it too my work and get it on a ramp! But will have a proper look at weekend when breather/manifold/pas pump are back on and can move it!

He said it was close and needed looking at iirc. But there should be clearance. Good luck getting your head round the custom mounts though, pretty ingenious from jimmy!

Good shout on the pot thingy. Does seem confusing but if the escort one is that way, it'd follow this one would be similar.

Bloody hell that looks a mess. I love how you are sorting this car out properly and not just leaving it/ignorning it. Once all the little bits and bobs have been sorted it should run beautifully, and be rather quick too!

I have a cosworth bailey breather on my car, and it does sometimes get a build up of moisture in the breather and pipes, just condensate really

Image

the 2 top fittings are from the engine, the one that loops round is fom the crankcase breather at the front of the engine, the small one from the rocker cover

The angles one at the bottom is for the return to sump, and the other fitting on the bottom is the breather/overflow, I have this piped in going to another catch tank with breather fitted , so that if i do manage to fill the bailey braether with very hard cornering, ill catch any surplus oil taht comes out the breather fitting ( its never caught anything , other tahn a little condensate)

Hope that helps a little

Mini update:

Shes had a oil change, new bosch filter and shell fully synthetic oil. Old oil came out mank!

Im on the hunt for a decent sized air filter (KnN, green, pipercross - if you have one for sale let me know, must be in good condition) The current one i put on it is just not big enough!

Took her for a spin today, even though its not 100%, the power is unreall. Ive never seen a speedo go round so quick!

I did feel extremely on edge though, felt like i was gnna get dragged off the road, especially on acceration, as if the wishbone bushes are shagged. I can't help but notice in jimmy build thread he put new mk3.5 PAS wishbones on it, but im suspecting there not the right items, maybe somewhere sold him the wrong ones

Jimmys pic:

My comparison pic:

I think they look like the non-pas arms? I had an issue like this before and turn out too be this. I think new wishbones, and put my avos on that way can set the height so it doesnt eat tyres.

Yup, they be tilting back. I would strongly suggest some rose joints though. You need something beefy for this beauty!
