Yeah cams zorst 4-2-1 map.

It's 30ft/lbs of torque. An engine thats not on its limit, mines got a leak and misfire and needs rebuilding and i jist reckon something else will go wrong lol

Im still not sure. The cost is the only thing holding me back. But ill make money on parts.

Dunnooooooo but will be much quicker lol

i just wrote a long reply and the fucking thing logged out and i lost it all! FFS!!! :banghead:

thats awesome 50bhp over standard from a 1.6! whats it like in comparison to other cars? e.g clio sports fiesta sts etc?

i drove a zs with a full miltek 4 branch and de-cat and filter and i didnt think much of it tbh. ignis was quicker. sounded awesome though!

just do it mate!

what else could you spend the 1800 quid on? thats what i always think lol theres not much else i`d rather spend my moneys on other than my car like.

Was kinda hoping to polybush it, send it to the bodyshop then start saving properly for general life :lol:

Bodyshop quote has come back cheap as chips as well. So thats made the decision even harder as I want it in there before the shows.

I think I need to drive my mates car and see how it feels and see if its worth the extra money. I know I can make about 7-800 on parts so its just the rest.

Also if I strip down the engine and loads of it is fubared and I need a new engine I'd be more inclined as it cost me about 1k to put this engine in by the end of it all!

Hopefully the labour cost comes back as £0. :lol:

the cams were quite literally running on the edge of his heads abilities


go for it chris, will be worth it after its done and dusted, and it shouldnt let you down as long as you look after it and the chap has looked after it himself

Lacking space up front though at the inlet for my idea.. think I'll stick to a zt for now.

Nah no Dtec.

I've decided to stay sensible, hopefully once this ones fixed it'll just stay reliable.

I need a reliable motor just to keep me going whilst I save up some money and I don't think DTEC is the way foward with that, It has had so much spent on it to get it going and I know it's going to need more to get it reliable. It helped having an honest opinion it the car and knowing it runs rich on idle and it'll need vibratec mounts and thats minimum. I wont have that as i'll be paying it off!

So tommorow I start the proper strip down see whats what and get it fixed asap!

Then it'll go to the bodyshop.. :D

Only because of the extra cost I know i'll incurr and the management is crap and map is probably crap which means new management, remap.

If I had the money to buy it outright then sort issues I would but I can't be skinting myself for 3 months for something that'll need money to get running and have no money for fixing lol

For those who don't know what the pictures mean..

16 Bent valves and a few marks on the pistons. Luckily there are no cracks or anything, Need to turn it over by hand tommorow just to make sure it all moves freely and theres no bent conrods.

Reconditioned head, new head set and we're away again. Should be done by the end of next week hopefully.

how the feck did you manage to bend them all?!

christ!

tbh id get a new engine, be the same price as a new cond' head and you wont have to worry about one of the pistons cracking after you start it up and give it a toot of your horn, they have all hit hard and done so one after another as its continued its cycle hence each valve has been hit, so them pistons have taken a beating!

a head will cost you £120-£150 recond, same as a replacement engine
