There's a bit of body roll there yeah, but that corner was quite high speed after banking right quite sharply.

As a passenger it felt superb though, really not a lot of body roll to speak of. Matts one was a stage further along for track use, and it did show though!

Really good day :D Thoroughly enjoyed a near 100mph spin :D

Interesting post and I was by no means slating the fact you didn't upgrade as i'm fully aware that bolting on coilovers isn't the end of how to make your car handle "better" and as it says it can be worse.

Just wondered, and now I have an answer :) I heard Mugen stuff comes with a ridiculous price tag.

Are you thinking of getting into some serious trackdays then or just one here and there?

No that's OK Chris - I just wanted to make a point that I'm pretty stuck with coilover choice as all the bottom of the range £500/600 sets typically are better than worm OEM but not as good as new OEM. I'm waiting to see if a set of 2nd hand Mugen Showa Silver or Gold coilovers come up for sale, and get them refurbished.

Plus if my car was any lower it really would suffer for my daily.

When I renew my bushes for the entire car it will be a case of harder rubber bushes for some, but OEM for others. Learning about turbochargers and what I need, reading about mapping more in depth and what to buy was one thing, but suspension is so much more insane to learn about in laymen terms that I have my work cut out.

But yes it's safe to say I'll spending a little bit of money on suspension and brake modifications early in the new year :lol: :)

The joys of modifying, when you really get into it past bolting on a back box and chopping your springs you realise it starts getting expensive :lol:

It's good to see your putting the research in and not following the crowd of the "done" thing, shows research pays off. I really should sort out my suspension properly and get it all set up but just never have the effort and not into the serious track days (yet!)

Then me going for a lap and then letting Matt through.


Safe to say that a DC2 with a turbocharger running 250bhp (guesstimate) with old suspension is difficult to match against my mates DC5 N/A running 245bhp (approx) with semi-slicks, uprated carbon brakes and racing fluid, coil over suspension and newer bushes. You'll notice me hang back on Devil's on purpose (all the time on that bend) as I just don't trust the geometry of the car on the downhill curve, especially when there were cars ready to overtake.

Expect more videos in February, with me at least having new brakes, bushes and tyres. My road tyres didn't fare to well.. :lol:
