Only got this car now I'm affraid :(
If I still had the Ka, I would have just thrown this engine into it and scrapped the si in rage :lol:

Anywho.. will get welded up best we can, and continue to drive it :)

Then onto the other little things that need doing, then I can get my omex rev limit / launch control and heated seats made :D

mate, really surprised about this. All the time in my ownership it spent 95% of its life in my garage. so the minty mint outside is covering up its inner most secrets. Feel bad for you now as obviously I sold it you, but never dug as deep as you have to find all the rot.

you got the receipt for the spray job somewhere, i went back to the same company to have the bonnet sprayed and they had it for 3 weeks and done fook all with it, so decided from then they where shit, and that would also explain some of the stuff you found. spray job was cheap though, from what i remember it was less then £1500.

Soon as I saw the amount of sealer covered with the new paint I was fuming.. whats the point in doing that :lol:

It'll be getting patched up asap.. and I'm sure it'll last a long while :)

Anyway, boot and the silly inner arch will be welded up in the next week or so, I'll just have to live with a damp boot for now as I can't take it off the road :lol:

Inner panel were gonna have to fab something to fit, weld as much as we can to strengthen in, then I'll use liquid weld stuff, seam sealer the fuck out of it then underseal. Will last long enough. If I keep the car long enough It'll prob get some panels replaced properly in a couple of years anyway.

Was bored at work so had a poke around the boot floor.
Its weak in the opposite corner too, so I'll get that corner welded as well.

Found some surface rust between the inner arch and rear quarter too, so will treat that to stop it coming through to the outside panel.

Will be changing the tank this weekend, which I've been putting off week after week. So most likely have a good old poke around and scrape off some of the crappy underseal that's flaking off.

I'll also be removing the interior rear of the front seats so welding is easier, and I'll be spraying it all up afterwards.

I love old cars lol

Floorpan doesn't look bad, and the bodywork only has a couple of tiny bits like the arch lips, but nothing major really.

Just the very awkward bit in the rear arch, and the boot floor.
Oh and sills eventually, but thats normal so that doesn't bother me.

Drives fine lol, need to get my exhaust sorted tho, cause its blowing and hitting the tank.

Still drive it as normal lol

Its only metal, it can all be welded.

The paint can always be repainted. And wont cost the earth :)
