right. i had a good think today and have decided exactly what is happening. i will keep it short and sweet and i want people to give advice/comment/suggest anything they feel like!

this time next week my steelies will be on (painted white to be different) and the rs's will be off.
they will be having a refurb in a colour i'm not too sure yet so colour suggestions will be taken on board!
i will be selling my avo coilovers (pm if your interested as they have a few slight issues) and i will be purchasing brand new coilovers or simply a full set up next year.
i will be getting a brand new exhaust system because my 2nd hand one is blowing and doesnt fit properly.
the underside is mint as i found out today so will be getting only a slight bit of attention.
the cossie splitter will be going but i have arranged for that.
i will hopefully be purchasing dan p's 1.6 xr2i engine to build up for the near future when i can afford the insurance on it etc. i will hopefully be learning a lot doing it and putting cams in it as he planned.
i really want an espace splitter (sorry but the cossie bib just isnt for me!)
and the cherry on top will be a full respray and getting my o/s replaced (door, wing etc) from the accident damage.
adjustable wishbones will be getting sorted also once danny does a guide ;)

all on all i want mainly new things on my car, i know that carrys a price but im sick of second hand stuff that needs fixing etc etc. i hope most of this will be done this time next year (the respray i will be saving for but we know how much that will be!)

so as said, suggestions will be appreciated big time. cant wait to look at her when she's nice and fresh, sick of giving her second hand stuff and not taking care properly.

hope i didnt go on too long, watch this space... i know i dont update much but shit will be going down soon.

thanks, ben

sounds like you got yourself a good little plan there scouse  at least with the 2i engine you wont have to change the engine mounts and stuff its just a straight out and in job :) i dont know if you mentioned it previously and i forgot but if you havent upgraded the brakes i would if you put the 2i engine in. nothing amazing just a set of drilled and grooved disks with some better pads. other than that mate, i look forward to seeing it come together  p.s. your gf is fit !! only jesting pal :teehheee:

Good stuff, firstly i recommend white rs2000s because they looked great on chris's car and they will definatly suite ash black, alot of people are going dark coloured with their alloys so white isnt as common anymore.
Also have you got quotes for the engine in? Might not be as bad as you expect.
Good job and the under side being mint, saves alot of worry.

Also do you still want these seats because my missis is starting to moan about them being in the way. Dont worry if you have changed your mind, just let me know. Cheers.

a garage would charge atleast £200 for a engine out and in job, and even then he would have to do the conversion parts like ecu, loom etc :(

good plans ben, lets see them happen :D

he said, coz he doesnt like giving the car second hand items anymore, that they always break and are unreliable, he'd rather treat it proper and get it new items :)

coilovers are unreliable anyway, they arent really designed for road use. they need regular maintenance/servicing to be reliable.

ey sam, the only reason you're offering is so you can come down and perv! dirty begger.
but yes, i would want to tackle the bitch myself instead of paying somebody. but it will take a while for that yet and if i don't get the engine, it gives me more time to research and become a bit more 'handy'. and about the brakes, thats the one thing i missed out. was thinking rs2000 conversion? not sure, need to see whats the norm and whats the easiest where i will get good 'brakeage'. obviously do the servo etc. bigger the better?

lou, the white wheels are growing on me but cleaning them would drive me nuts. need to have a good think about it tbh! and for the seats yes! keep forgetting about them. will you be at sixfields on the 17th i think it is?

jonny, damn right, want this all to happen, just need this rain to stop! was in my grannys double garage the other day patching up the exhaust with some putty... omg i wish i had one. so once i have my carport cleaned out that should make it a bit easier for me to crack on.

yeah now you say it dan i think i will stray away, plus i could never be arsed actually adjusting them if i wanted so i standard set up will do. koni adjustables, how much they set you back and is that just for the damper settings?

jonys got rs2000 260mm brakes and he thinks they are very good!

i got the st24 setup on my fiesta and they were immense, but liked locking up! hence why my fiesta is no more lol

yeah koni adjustables you can adjust the stiffness of the dampers basically.

my friend ryan had them on his rs turbo and it had a superb ride :)

you can also get spax adjustables which are a bit cheaper.

my fiesta used to have spax springs and it handled awesome!

not to be cocky but my set up is very good, suits a fiesta of my power/weight to a T

normal brake lines, escort mk5 servo/cylinder, RS2000 front brakes, drilled & grooved discs and mintex pads :) although the discs are only useful for prolonged use imo

i rememeber when i was giving it the beans up a rural mountain road tight and twisty road, and by the end of the track my brakes were very poor, first time i ever experienced brake fade, these discs are meant to help reduce that

260's is more than enough

280s is overkill, and more expensive

Its not overkill, many people on here have had them and recommended them whatever power they had.

course it is, when 260's handle car of our power the same, 280s like dans aid are more prone to lock ups being on a light car, and if you dont have the power of say pauls Si its overkill

and then you cant fit 14's or even 13 inch wheels
