Just highly sought after engines due to the reliability if treated right and the massive performance gains you can get.

As much as I would love a minter FRST, you couldn't use it daily like a modded civic etc


Plus the noise is just epic, went out in my mates ep3 with mugen induction and spoon backbox the noise once you hit vtec is amazing.

I learned to drive in a jazz. I like the steering wheels they have and the dash, it has this golf ball texture to it, but that was the older one.

I live the civics, i would mind a civic type r next, not the new shape but the one before, dont know what you boys call it.

Npbody would pay above £6k for an Ek9 :) not when you can get a 98 spec JDM Integra for that, or a DC5 for a little more than £6k.

yea them EK9s my fav looking one, but christ the interior of that 2002 model is goregous, and ive always said most jap interiors suck, and it finally made engines that turn the "normal" direction :P

I was going to buy an EP3 before the DC2 but it wasn't as raw or punchy to drive, and a little common. But looking back that wouldn't bother me anymore (the common aspect).

Lovely cars though, brilliant engines, lovely interiors, handle brilliantly. They're common for a few reasons - namely because they were made in Swindon and they are built fantastically.

Anywayyyy.. Back on topic of my car.

:D

Engine mount went in today! The old one was buggered. The car feels a little firmer now. Slight cabin vibrations on idle, so it is definitely harder, and much more positive steering. Wahey! Will do the next two very soon.

Didn't even manage to change my brake fluid as I've just not had the daylight hours available. But it will be changed soon anyway.

Getting my alarm replaced on Friday for a Thatcham 1 with remote start. OOooo I'll be all fancy I tells ya. :teehheee:

I also keep finding bits to remove from the car... I think it'll be pretty raw in 2012. :devil:

my uncle had an EK9 type R when it first came out and he, to this day, reckons its the best car he has ever owned and he has had a LOT of cool cars. i wouldnt mind one myself just to experience vtec :halo:

Update:

Went to Mallory Park on Saturday to have a blast around. Was good fun. Slid off Gerard's bend in the early morning due to it being wet with my tyres still quite cold (no talent), which I have on video, and had an over steer moment a short while later.. Which I also have a video of :lol: but once it dried out it was fine.

Brakes and tyres took a slight hammering, but overall it was a good day. Could only do a few warm up laps and then 4/5/6 laps before it got too hot (300f+) :shock: so had a lot of short trips out. Really brought to light where I need to spend my money next.

1075kg - nay bad for it being standard aside from the rear seats, parcel shelf and boot floor out.

Matt's DC5 was awesome. So stiff, gripped well, sounded awesome and punching above its weight as per.
