I have a 1995 mk3 fiesta with a clunky steering problem it's had a new steering joint and still does it.... What can this be?

Any more details? When does it clunk? What part of the steering range does it clunk? Does it clunk when the car is still?

Have you had a look down at the track rod ends, ball joints on the lower arms, and checked the wheel bearings?

yehh it does it if the car is moving or stilll.... track rod ends are fine and still tight all wishbone's and so on are fine i think it may be the rack that has worn if i hold the rack and get a mate to turn the wheel i can feel it grinding ... not smoth at all

sounds like either the rack or the universal joint at the bottom of the collumn, is it power steering? a non-p/s rack from a motor factors is about £30 and a new genuine UJ is only about £15
