The exhaust isnt too big, the 2 -> 1 pipe which bolts on, needs lifting up at a slight angle, and everything would be fine.
But I can't be arsed to piss about removing it to weld it.

If I can be arsed in a few months I might mod an S brace to fit perfectly. Although Ive never noticed any difference with or without it. The same as a rear antiroll bar.

i didnt need to remove the starter to get my manifold on/off, does need to be split in the two halfs though

The one I had on was welded so couldn't split it.

I have no motivation to do mine.

Although Saturday will see the fuel tank with cossie pump fitted... as that's a major fire hazard and money waster.
And exhaust flexi, as I hate blowing exhausts.

Gonna pick up my welder, get some gas and practice a few welds, then eventually get cracking patching the many holes.

I can see myself doing the filler panels and other bits on the car in a year or so... meaning respray lol

I hate it.

The welding is the main bitch, I'm gonna do it myself instead of getting my mate to do it, not sure if thats wise but fuck it. Inner fuel panel is gonna be fixed the best I can... will be a mix of welding in a panel and some sealer to make sure no water can get through... no doubt it'll rust the outer one eventually, but that'll be a year or 2 away I'd like to hope.
I'm refusing to plan any outer panel repairs & resprays until it happens. If things start to bubble, I'll leave it as long as possible until it warrents fixing properly.

Once the rear arches have been welded up, I can then fit the RS2K rear discs, and Mondeo servo.

New year I desperately need my AVO's repairing, as the front suspension is a liability under heavy braking as I found out that night.

I can understand your loss in motivation but if it helps, most of the welding youll be doing is what most people would leave or not even find. Good work on the shaft, hopefully it driving well will give you will power.

Yeah, which is exactly what somebody did... found it... covered it with sealer, and left it. Which TBH is what I would have done... but now its got to the point it needs welding up the best I can.

Gotta admit, it felt beautiful to drive on the way to work this morning... just the bouncing front suspension letting it down. But that does give me a slightly better feeling towards it... exhaust and tank replacement will help too.
Oh and a sexy non airbag RS1800 steering wheel.

awww, im feeling your pain a bit man, just got very anoying niggles out of mine so i feel better, literally spend 6 hours our in it last night lol, so yea im on good terms with it

im a wuss too, i just feel like saying F it and buy another car, not to sell it but to just get away from the troubles for a while

which doesnt get helped by the fact im REALLY wanting a mk1 mondeo or mk2 V6, which again isnt helped by the fact both them are so cheap right now!

even the mk3's are less than a grand everywhere! mind high mileage/problematic ones
