if everything goes to plan im hoping to get the zetec in the fiesta sometime around the new year.

i just need to be reminded what i need for the conversion, im forgetting about fiestas now i have a jap car lol

the engine i got originnally came from a escort gti 115 spec with the plastic inlet.

mines 1.4 at the moment.
apparently i need a 1.6 si engine loom, yeah? and then modify plugs to mate it with the 1.4 interior loom..

at the moment i have a 1.8 105 spec xr2i engine loom, also have the interior loom, but i dont wana be swapping all that over really.

is the 1.8 zetec loom the same as a 1.6 si loom? im guessing it is?

also i have a 2fdc rs1800 ecu, which apparently wont work and i need a 2.0 mondeo desk deep dewy ecu? or rs1800 cult?

at the moment i have a gti plastic inlet and injectors, and a SO inlet and injectors from the 105 spec xr2i.. so i need to get the HO inlet.

but what injectors should i use? rs1800 or 2.0? and what colours are they? i also have some blue frst injectors, will they work?

i have 2.0 cams to go in it.

as for mounts i have a front non pas mount, and i believe the rear mount is the same as cvh?

ive decided im gona keep the non pas mount and get shot of the pas, change the rack to a rs quick rack. and apparently you have to change the column?

right then, transmission..

the plan is to have the 1.4 box reconditioned and buy an rst lsd to go in it, i got a feeling they fit?

i got brand new box mounts for it. as the current ones are fudged!

as the escort engine had the other type gearbox with lift up revese, dont i have to change the flywheel on the zetec engine to a cvh one?

im planning on getting the flywheel lightened and balanced as well..

as you can probs tell this fiestas not gona be done for a while yet, i have BIG plans for it. lol and any help will be much appreciated! :halo:

lol ok, big list so here goes

Xr2i loom is fine, doubt the Xr has pas so if you want pas you'd want to swap for a 16v Si loom as most had pas, yes modifications to the loom for a cvh

guide for the plug changes are 2/3 of the way down the page

interior loom will remain untouched

2fdc is pre pats and your and every Si is post pats, and these are not interchangeable! so you need a word coded ecu, Deep, Desk, Dewy are all 2.0 ones, they will work yes but mk3.5 RS1800 Cult ecu would be ideal, but these are very rare, 2.0 ones cost about £60 as it is

(as a rule most post pats ecu are an actual word rather than a jumble of letters and numbers)

(as another rule, for odd reasons mk3.5 fiestas had the immobiliser/pats built into the car, NOt the ECU so changing the ecu wont effect the pats, but mk4 and there after fiestas have pats in the ecu, changing it removes the pats opperationg unless you also keep the original key for that ecu)

the escort inlet can be used, although it can be a bit hard to work with as its very tight fit in the fiesta bay, power gains are very sceptical, but i believe them to be worse than the H.O inlet

S.o is fine but obviously less powerful/more restrictive

the xr2i injectors would be fine to use, might hamper you if you went for more power like say 150bhp but be fine for 130spec

2.0's use brown injectors, not sure on the RS ones but they may be the same as the 2.0

RS turbo ones WONT fit, theyre very different and the ecu would likely be confused by them (different impedance and Ohms)

CVH rear engine mounts are different, but i believe they fit a zetec with modification, i also believe some CVH mounts are stiffer than zetecs, if not all of them (due to the zetec being designed to be more refined)

for changing to non PAS you will need a non pas union for the bottom of the column, they have a different sized hole that fits the rack pinion, i believe the non pas one is larger (or smaller either one)

id strongly advise you find either a 1.6 Si, RS1800 or Xr2i (16 or 8v) gearbox
when i converted my 1.3 mk4 to the 1.8 zetec the gearbox was very short, juddery, slower in both acceleration and top speed than the same engine with no other work done, whist fitted to this Si (Si was positively quicker in acceleration, and where the mk4 could only reach 126mph, the si can reach 132mph)
plus its likely to last longer due to the added power (myth)

zetec flywheel is fine even in the cvh gearbox (or even HCS gearbox)

LSD will fit any BC gearbox so yes it will fit your 1.4 box

most of my answers ive actually done and tested myself :)
some others could be argued haha

cheers mate.

the 'new' plan is 2.0 mondeo lump which has already been converted for escort/fiesta e.g sump pickup tube etc...

2.0 deep ecu

HO Inlet with 2.0 injectors and 2.0 maf. engine i got planned has 151bhp and 145 lb ft proven.

K&N
4 Branch manifold
Magnex exhaust

ill use the loom ive got.

convert to non pas. so i dont need to change the whole column just the bit at the bottom.

perhaps ill get a erst box for it then.

its one of the last zetec e silvertops with a revised cylinder head? 136 bhp as standard.

its got exhaust filter and some kind of stainless 4 branch, not the usually ashley competition one, its got a custom downpipe and flexi on it.

no air con.

i think the egr is removed

i dont know what else.

all i know is it pulled 151bhp and 145 lb ft and it goes really well in an escort.

i dunno mate all i know is he said after he changed the manifold to this race style manifold, i looked last night they sell em on ebay.

and he also changed from the powerflow exhaust to a larger bore janspeed or something like that it is from an rs2000 he said it was a different car..

and i looked theres quuite a few escort 2.0 zetecs on youtube with breathing mods running over 150 bhp.

i dunno mate, if i have it i will get it rr`d one day anyway, so will see then..

anyway a 2.0 is gona be better than a 1.8 isnt it?

jasons was 142.5bhp with just a de-at pipe cat back and filter, and thats 12 more than it should have..

when did you go in jasons?

when i went in it it just basically had the 2.0 fully stripped with buckets and 1.1 bumpers haha

and it went like fook!

the 2.0 he later bought off scorted wasnt as fast, but that went well.

think im deffo going 2.0.

and im hoping its gona be fast.
