just fitted a Escort Limited Slip Diff into my Si gearbox, what gearbox oil do i use? was using basic EP80 but dont know if the LSD needs something different?

Look on the euro car parts website, enter the details of a later tyre erst and it should tell you, I'm also pretty sure there was a thread on passion ford a little while ago about it

i would use a 75/90 fully synth oil. millers would have my vote

Just regular gear oil, same as the non-LSD gearbox. The viscous part of the LSD is fully enclosed / sealed with it's own fluid, so the gear oil makes no difference to it (unlike a plate type LSD). I will probably be using fully synthetic too.

On a related point, I have seen reconditioned gearboxes with a sticker on them that says to fill with engine oil. Does anyone know why, and what are the advantages and disadvantages of this?
