they are both cvh but the xr2 is good ol' carb and the xr2i is efi (fuel injection)

right okay. people seem to prefer carb, guessing that's old school compared to fuel injection? if anyone can send a link to apage where it explains it that will do me :D dont want to minder too much, just want to learn and understand!

Carb will need tuning... and will prob cause problems down the line imo

Personally, efi... better reliability.

lol you lot your making me wet with all this cvh tuning talk

id go for efi mate, the card version has a few cons

carbs require annual maintinance, offer slightly less power, can go wrong more often, bad emissions which could effect your mot

but the good points is, theyre cheaper, easier to fit as theres no ecu and very little engine loom involved and still a good engine

hang on a minute petrol :hmm: ... you said he would stuggle to pass an MOT with a carb cvh and you tell him to decat an efi cvh ? firstly you said ' de-cat is a must ' then you said ' they didnt come with a cat ' so that doesnt make sense :? and 2nd you said he would struggle to pass an mot with a carb'd cvh .. well all cvh's ( apart from the 1.4cvh ) didnt have a cat so he would fail no matter what he chose HOWEVER mot emissions go on the co2 levels from the engine not the car. so if the engine from a 1.6 efi cvh produces 'n' amount co2 in a xr2i its going to do the same in an Si so it will pass. otherwise modern cars with older engines wouldnt have MOT's :thumbsup:
