right then. been thinking the past couple of days... hopefully getting a promotion in work and atm ive been earning a hell of a lot of money (70 hour weeks etc with bonus') so i've had an email from avo about my coilovers being serviced etc as they need it before im happy fitting them. so ive been quoted some rough prices but for a clearer pic ill be sending them then they will be letting me know what needs doing and at what price.

now if it is too expensive. ill probably be investing in a brand new set (all down to price).

my wheels are also getting a refurb in a colour that im not sure too many people will be into but its what i want to see so yeah

and for Ford Fair next year the car will have had a full respray etc all panels straightened out.

so thats just updating my thread and giving everybody an idea of where im heading since i seem to say ill do something and never follow it through.

oh and the camer adj lower arms will be sorted once i run my current tyres down (as i will be investing in toyo's or whatever people recommend)

atm the price for the coilies is around £160. but obviously if more needs doing that could go up... or it could go down! just want the car to sit slightly lower. also bought some new gel overlays to match my centre caps.

Coilovers will be much cheaper to repair than buy new.

Get some Parada spec 2's I also might be selling my RST recaros for cheap sometime in the near future

not quite a straight swap, be a very similar conversion to a RS turbo engine though

slight difference int he engine mount bracket, loom will need changing, exhaust will need slight changes


you got a 1.4 atm? the xr2i engine has 110bhp 0-60 in 9 seconds dead much quicker than a 1.6 Si engine, 90bhp and 60 about 11.2 secs?

Don't think it would be anywere near 9 secs more like 10/11 on the basis yours had 127bhp and done it in 8.5

Xr2i 1.6: 0-6 8.9 secs
1.4 si: 0-60 12secs

I'd cvh it mate Xr2i engine will bolt straight on I think. Just get a Burton power oil pump and its fine. Won't do 0-60 in 9 secs lol

might do, ive never driven one, my experience book figures tend to be generous, i said that then meilack come back saying his with a filter done a 7.55 lol so meff him

i used to do my old 1.6 si using a timer and it come back at like 11.4 each time, obviously inaccurate though but you get an idea

main thing to remember is how they deliver the power, the cvh's might do it nice and quick/low down the rev range where christ i know mine is all up top, thing doesnt really start to kicking till 4k, it has an unofficial vvt in it lol

Same with all zetecs Jony, mine has a kick at about 4 and flies after that all the way to the limiter

Going from 1.4 to 2i cvh lump is easier than going to zetec lump. Same mounts. Just need the engine loom and ecu for it.
