guys i need help, i cant decide what to get? im looking at a 1.8 xr2i, rs1800 a new si and do a 2.0l transplant, or shud i save up and get an rst??


doing my head in, i love my si, love everything about it but maybe i want more power just cant decide, can anyone help????????????

If you love your Si and have already spent a fair amount money maintaining it then you might as well go the 2.0 route. With your car now you know what's right and wrong with it. If you change cars there's a risk you'll have to spend a whole load more fixing or renewing parts. Unless your Si is suffering badly from rust?? Is it a 1.6?

The 2.0 will be quicker than an XR2i and RS1800 anyway! And cheaper to insure :)

yeah its a 1.6, there no doubt i will have to break my si as there is sooo much wrong with it and bodywork is in bad condition, but i dont mind paying out for a new 1.so i was thinking of buying another 1.6 and then the 2.0l, or should i just look for something abit quicker to begin with? how does the power compare?

The 2.0 power is pretty amazing!!!! There is more torque than you'll get in a 1.8 and it feels an immensely better car for it. I've had turbo'd cars with over 200bhp before and only bought a Fiesta as I took out a mortgage. I never thought I'd enjoy it as much as I do, it just pulls so well and because mine looks pretty standard, no-one knows :)

If my 1.6 engine hadn't have been knackered, I wouldn't have gone the 2.0 route. But I'm glad I did :lol:
