im not doing it no.... my dad said he will do it lol. he used to trim bentley steering wheels so it should turn out pretty well.

the plan is to get another ph2 steering wheel, take the leather bits off and use them as a template to cut the alcantara and then sew that back on. sounds simple right?

i think the frp blue alcantara look is over done now tbh. frk ftw! on that note im also on the look out for a set of frk's as they are lush. the wheels not the seats..

nice though them cd changer models are hot cakes, worth around £90 on ebay! maybe more have a look

Yeah there are 2 ford satnavs of that era, the 9000 was made by clarion, so very cheaply made but had colour screen.
And the other was the travelpilot made by blaupunkt which kept in key with the original designs.

Similar scenario with the new fords headunits, the ford ones are built well as per usual, but the sony ones feel cheap, like when you press a button theres that very plasticy 'CLICK'

Cool, I remember when I first seen the ford 2 tear headunits when they cane out on the escorts, I thought "thats abit big" lol, I was used to old school single tear.

din theyre called single din/double din

mk5 escorts had the option of a cassette with second din to be a cd player



that blaupunked sat nav one comes in the mk6.5 fiesta, a mate has one in his ST, very rare option, only works while the nav cd is in though, bit crap

yea thats it, was going to be showed a running demo but it didnt want to load up the disc

apparently its just like a normal satnav but in materix screen, now they aint been around since the gameboy classic for gods sakes...

as i havnt updated this in a while i thought i might aswell.

the night before the last sixfields meet i came off a bypass and then had to stop at a set of traffic lights, leading to my temp gauge shooting towards the red. pulled over and waited for the car to cool down enough to drive home again safely.

a short whille after work that sat morning the thermostat seemed to be stuck shut. however by the time i had walked into town the local motorfactors was shut and i had to put the car back together without the thermostat.

this is how the car looked about a hour or so before leaving for sixfields


it may not look that bad but it had no coolant, thermostat housing or heater control valve.

anyhow a little more recently i started undersealing the car for winter, and generally giving the car a bit of a clean up.

also removed the resonators from the air box and i got myself a 2nd boot light from my si to wire in sometime.

i would have jammed the stat open rather than remove it completely, will cause issues if you remove it all together
