have considered keeping / fixing and selling the si.

Took her down to the garage earlier (dragged her kicking and screaming).

they had a look at it and told me i really should go for two new sills rather than patching it (which is what i had thought).

anyway:
£70 a side.
includes:
grinding out entire old sill.
welding new pattern part sill in place, to fit nicely.

so two sills completely new:
£140.

I thought that was quite good really?

Interesting, seeing as i don't have a job anymore i minds aswell tide myself over and go down to the local place in town thats supposed to be quite good.

Need a new passenger wing, remove old one and fit new one.

2 New Sills aswell and maybe a front valance as mine is non existant behind the bumper.

Really do wonder though, im thinking of reshelling it once the MOT is up into a clean 1100/1300 mk3.5 shell, it seems Si's rot far too easy

It just depends on how they've been treated throughout their lives. My old black one was mint - not a spot of rust on it anywhere, checked all the usual places and more, but nothing, no rust at all. Whereas this one has a few patches here and there - nothing major, but annoying when you know they're there.

Just had the sills replaced on mine, cost me £75 per side, and my brand new sills i ordered from a scrappy for £12 each!
Anyways whilst having it done, he told me he had to dig out the filler first!!! Which made me want to cry! And he reckons most of the underneath is rotton....Gutted.....
So im now selling it, hoping for the next one i buy to not be so rotton!!!! Damned fords and their rusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
