i would understand if you said you kept up with it even passed it to 60, my arosa kept up with my brothers astra to 50 but once the diesels stretch there legs and get into a long gear the turbo spools up alot of smoke comes out and there gone!

ok ill tell you where it happend, fabien way coming back from the citi centre, lights by amazon, we all set off, the mozda was on the inside and cut across and went ahead. i then realised they were going full beans at it, so i joine din, the golf was behind me at the lights, it then took longer to emurge from around the roundabout, after i sped off to catch the mazda, we all closed up going past the shell garage and on the bend just before the bend and motorway onslip, i let off a bit the golf caught up and i caught the mazda as he also braked

then we all give it the beens up the ramp toward the sharp 180 left bender at the end, the golf went into the overtake lane but struggled to pass me, i was slowly catching the mazda, i admit giving longer he'd likey had past me

but we hit the bend and that was it, i started to scare my other half so i calmed down and they both carried on untill traffic

but believe me we hit a considerable speed, he didnt pass, i imaging he was just coming back on boost by the time he had to brake, if he were in 6th

on a good note, ive finally managed to get the exhaust sorted!, no more knocks, its got plenty of clearance now too, and its much quieter, makes doing 70 down the motorway more pleasant, but i still have that roar if i plant it

going to change the coolant temp sensor in a mo now as ive read everywhere theyre a likely cause for overfueling, and coming to think of it i never smelt unburnt fuel before i fitted this "new" coolant sensor back in july, so it sounds likely


the idling has subsided now to that typical cam'd engine reaction to it, before it was unpredicable and one minuite it be bouncing next calm, now its just lumpy all the time haha so im at peace with that as i know ive caused it with the cams

popped to a breakers again today on the look out for tidy wheels, andt hat XR was still there, so robbed it of more parts

for £20 saw me this


got the set now

doubt it will ever see the Si though, however i am taken to it, needs a bit of filler and 2 new lamps and a surround, not bad considering ive seem some for £50



and this was there also



the drivers front arch had come away due tot he crash and it was hiding a ton of sever rust!
