i have just been looking and genuine ford bushes are nearly £40 and i have seen powerflex for just a bit more than that. so polly bushes it is then.

however my list of things to do is, in order of importance:
tax it at the end of the month
get some new front tyres
replace the rear bushes
replace ariel
get the bit of rust sorted out
get wind deflectors
and then re badge rear and fit new badge to the front.
oh and somwhere in all of this i need to hammerite the floor (dave style) ready for winter

i totally forgot that the si and this use pretty much the same chassis, meaning the same door shape lol them ones of the 1.3 will do until i get some nice new shiney ones then. i keep forgetting i dont have them anymore and whenever i open the window the rain runs off the windscreen and down the door card.

wind deflectors are like boost, when you have had some you cant live without.

the floflex bushes are the cheapest and easiest to fit, they come in 2 pieces with a metal sleeve you insert, so you dont need to press them in they just push in and your done

i think they are £20

I'd get spec 2's for the front, there not too expensive but perform really really well.

My exhaust is an ebay special. there was a company that used to do an 7 day auction sunday-sunday every week only cost me £120.

Then the 4-2-1 mani was second hand from someone on ZSOC for £140.

i agree with you jony but then again the 1.6 se engine does respond really well to simple breathing mods. i think the standard bore of the si exhaust is about 2" anyway

i was just asking as i dont plan on doing anything to it until i get it tidy.

On the flip side an exhaust can be too wide and cause lack of back pressure, with that mandrel bends are an improvement (I guess the standard system doesn't have them).

nice to see someone who doesnt think that the less backpressure the better on a na engine. im not really looking to buy an exhaust anyway yet i have more important things to be doing but i was just seeing what is on offer

I don't know what standard bore is but the bore of those systems are 2.25" the car won't gain that much from a cat back but i've had no problems with mine and the noise is epic.

There made for improvements and all piper/miltek etc are all the same bore so it can't be that wrong :lol:
Surely if an si system was 2" standard then there would be no different in power is an aftermarket was 2" you may as well bolt on a backbox for noise.

But yeah, worth getting a cat back or full system if you can :) You notice the difference and the noises are just :D

Also I don't think they have silencers on them either. for the cat to back box anyway as someone todayhas put one on his Mk4 for that reason :lol:

The 2.5" bore is only used on the FRP engines.
