How should I go about this?? hmmm...
Basically.. I am going to put the Fiat Uno on the road, instead of MOT & TAX on the Scrote.
Reasons for this:-
The Scrote needs a windscreen, rear beam and brakes sorting, and maybe some welding.. oh and the exhaust.
The Scrote sits in the high tax band, so thats what.. £115 for 6 months or something?
The Fiat needs a carb service and some interior putting back together, £30.
Everything else will pass the MOT, and the tax is the lower bracket.. so £65 for 6 months or so?
Insurance basically drops 50% moving onto the Fiat.
The Fiat is a decent car, and I love the seats in it, sooooo nice to sit in

- Slow yes, but still ok.
I have 3 options here:-
Fix the carb, keep it standard. Manual choke etc. 45bhp (posh 5 speed box tho..)
Fix the carb, keep it standard. And source a Punto 60 1.2 8v engine & loom to fit over a weekend. (or a 1.2 16v)
Find an engine, and fit it all before the MOT.
I am leaning towards option 2... as when running well, the standard engine does pretty well.. and an engine swap isnt going to take longer than a day, as the engine loom wiring is separate from the car loom, just a case of bolting it up to the existing box and wiring up a few things to the electrics.
BTW. The Scrote will live in the garage, I may bring it back out next year, depending. I'd rather get the Ka done.
