Yeah Accord Type R's are really great bargains - And if they were good enough for Damon Hill to rave about them then hey.. Much comfier Recaro seats than the Reacro's in mine and extra torque as standard (2.2 litre) - it's the more mature mans Integra.

There's a few integra's knocking around the forums on 160k - Some engines have blown up at 50k mind, but it all comes down to keeping oil levels in check, using the right oil, changing it reguarly and warming them up properly - Why oh WHY they do not come with an oil temp gauge as standard I do not know..

Agreed - the only car I've had that had a static oil temp gauge was the 306 GTi-6. When mines installed, I'll be interested to see if the regular drive to work gets it up to proper operating temperatures as it's only when I parked up at work did my engine temp hit the normal operating temperature mark in the Gti-6.

seems most jap engines actually prefer to run on theyre own oil than they do petrol O.o

No. I've not used a drop according to my dip stick in the last 6000 miles and that's including my sump gasket leak since I've put the new block on :lol:

My old engine used to use about half a litre every 1000 miles! But then the piston rings were shot on it and I was using 5w30 which was too thin - it needs 10w40 at least. These engines get a bad reputation as they simply aren't looked after but that's the way it goes - you don't hear anyone creating threads about how "My engine doesn't use a drop" you will only hear about it when people make threads about "Why am I using so much oil?".

They're definitely not like a Wankel engine.

all cars can drink oil if they are not looked after/serviced properly. Everyone says cvh's use oil but my Xr3i never used a drop and that was on 98k when i sold it
