first off i took delivery of this rather exciting package, bought the lube seperate

Then i got my new wheels wrapped in 205/45/16 tyres

council are cutting down our forests all over the place due to an alleged tree disease spreading

back at home, popped it in the garage for a night of improvement

Puss agrees

Camber and arch gap (remember its only 30mm) & new headlamp protectors

To surmise, before i started

other things i bought at Ford fair, thanks to a trader and Tango, cheers man
ill use the matt finish tint on the back three windows, might sell the reflective ones on, all 4 for £10

bought this because of the condition of my K&N, manking! not been cleaned since before i even bought the car

i know im a slacker! so instead of £10 for a cleaning kit i got this Green cotton filter for £5

just look at the close Macro shots, really filthy

so i got cracking on the car, changing the 2.0 cams for Kents fast road 262 degree cams, and help from the missus

home made cam locking tool

Lubing the follows and guides, the cam lobes were also done

that concluded last night, finished just shy of 2am

just before i finished for the night, i was refitting the cam cover, as i went to slot a bolt into the hole for it on the cover i dropped it, it literally had too... it fell into a spark plug hole with freakish precision
using a probe magnet thing the bolt was easy to remove, as it didnt fit through the hole thanks tot he piston being at TDC, but its washer did
took me half hour to remove the bastard thing lol, jacked the car up on the passengers side as i could see it to the right of the centre of the piston, i was knocking the car and hitting the head with a rubber mallet to shock the washer to the centre, nope, ended up using a long reach screw driver that i bent the head on to reach while at BDC...
then raised the piston back up thanks to my missus clever thinking i used a screw driver with some blue tack on the end to grab it out, the prove magnet wouldnt fit through the plug hole
think ive learned my lesson there, NEVER leave the plugs out apon reassembly lol, phew though, would have hated to remove the head just to get it, meaning new bolts and gasket!

today was timing and refitting

but disaster stuck, as i was about to start it, i was cranking it with the coil unplugged to check things, and PAS fluid started to piss out of a new hole in the crossover pipe, must have happend when i pent the pipe out of the way to remove the cam cover

this is where im to atm, having a little tea break a sec then ill be back down there to take the pump off which is a right swine of a job, and fit a spare pas pipe i thankfully have

love my spares pile

but i did remove the aux belt just to get it running, took a minute of cranking but she fired up sure enough and run fine

, which is a relief, wont know if the timing it bang on untill im driving it
but it should be fine
more later, plenty of mods to come this week
