It does seem a little early and the rollers does seem a little dodgy.

Really the curve is controlled by the cams and since you have standard cams I would guess the graph is wrong.

Go to a proper well established RR and see what it comes up with, thats the only way you will get a more accurate result. These back street ones will only give you a rough indication but in all fairness, even with the mods you have it does seem a little odd that it maxes out so early, even ford never designed the engine to do that from standard.

Its a mystery to say the least.

Calm down dear.

The figures are probably fine, seems the revs have been mis-collaborated.

i am calm, but danny its a well reputable garage, most people across south wales go there, not backstreet at all

and look at the graph, nothing tops out early, it peaks sooner then holds

Look guys don't worry about it, I'm letting this get to me, and ft is proof of what happens when that goes to far, can we let it lie please

Plenty for us all to do, prepping for Ford fair, I'm being reckless and using wet and dry to get rid of the cars major paint defects, its going well so far, need a high speed buffer though as its taking ages bringing the shine back after the wet n dry

i never understand wet and dry sanding... can anyone ellaborate because in my mind, it will just scratch the surface, and then wont it need repainting?

The idea is to take the first layer of paint off. Personally I would use a cutting compound rather than sandpaper

lol cutting compounds woudlnt even bother some of these scratches :(

basicly if you rub the paper over the paint dry, no water, it will score, scratch and burn the paint, all of these are actual damage, where as wet and dry is water to lubricate the paper as it scratches or files away at the bad paint, taking it off and revealing a layer under the top coat, only works on light scratches, blemeshes or slight scratches, if its too deep you'd be there all day, some of mine go through to the plastic on my back bumper :@

pics coming soon :) uploading now

oookay

starting with my back passengers half (front end is fine tbh)

heres a pic so you know why this needs doing, and why i try to bury my head at shows

Image

ive been so ashamed of the paintwork on the car, the first owner loved this car, spend loads on it and had it serviced annually as you should with any car

the second was a carpenter or painter and decorator, evidant by all the paint spots and wood shavings through out the car and boot when i had it

he didnt care for the car so much, used it as a run around more or less and it has dings, scratches and badly attempted touch up jobs, not the tough up pen, wet and dry and buff job your meant to do

which results in its bad paint, i didnt make it better when i fucked up with the body bond when i applied the arches, the sratches above the arch in this pic are from me trying to rub away the glue

so anyway amoung other scratches and blemishes its in dire need of a a buffing around the back half of the car on both drivers and passengers sides, and it will be done ready for ford fair so i dont need to be ashamed

pics

areas where scratches and after some 1200 wet and dry

this is after the arch gets its buffing after the wet n dry
Image

after some T-cut, which done next to nothing really

Today as i was buffing i was also spraying, rust has come through on the bottom of my drivers door so this was getting some attention, was blistering through the paint, but its solid

masking, Kurust, and some wetting
Image

Primering, painting and then lacquering

just in time for tea this, so tomorrow after some hardening it will be wetted back and buffed to blend it in

in the middle of the spraying and buffing i done this too, only the drivers for today, done each of the three on this side

today then i began using 3M cutting compound and my electric hand buffer, only a cheap one with a cotton cap on it

Got my New welder set today, its an Arc this time, still need some 1.6mm and 2.5mm rods before i can use it, have plans to make a engine standard, and a engine hoist :)
never used arc before though, after some reading up i understand you start it off by striking the rod on the surface like a match :o very exotic compared to a mig :P

Got it for £40 at a market brand new it is :)

all for today/yesterday

i think you've used too much of a rough grade on the paint, You can buy meguires wet and dry which is about 3500 grit i think, extremley fine paper.

Also that polisher wont touch it you need a proper DA with adjustable speed to sort that out.

Personally wpuld have bought a DA and had a go with that before attackong the car with sandpaper. Id leave that to a pro

Doesn't look like you've done too bad a job but o can't tell if the grazes are fully gone in the pics. It's very shiny on the rest of it thoigh noce.
