TBH Op, if you want a lot of car for your money, EP3 Civic Type R's are insane bang per buck. Seriously, you should take a look.

An old workmate of mine has the 30th Anniversary one, in silver, completely bog standard, full Honda service history, not high miles either. Is that what they go for then Mr Ry?

They go for much less than the earlier EK9 models oddly. I'd have to get an Anni' model as they have lovely red Recaro seats, red carpets and a Momo steering wheel that is really nice to hold. Quite rare as well as there's only 300 of them.

Of course £8k would get you a white JDM model with extra BHP, LSD, better gear ratio's, Recaro's, stiffer suspension, etc - but it's not worth it as you really are paying a premium - if you want 250bhp in one of these in N/A format, it's not hard. You can stick in a Honda Integra DC5 gearbox with LSD as a much better but cheaper alternative too.

It was a toss up between one of these and my Teg. I bought my teg as I know I didn't need to commute much, otherwise it was going to be an EP3. Just as capable as a Honda Integra DC5.

You know, I really am not clued up at all on Honda's. I'm quite shocked actually, I've never even looked at them in any great depth. How odd.

The only major thing against the EP3 Civic is that it's so common IMO - it's one of very few overall downfalls really! (the only thing I didn't like so much about the model I test drove was the lack of engine noise/intake noise, and quite light steering - but these can be cured quite easily)

If I decided to up and sell my teg tomorrow, I'd probably get a solid EP3 thinking about it - it would be test driven again at the very least!

If its for a deposit you are on the right track as it will make a huge difference, as said above £2k can get you something decent.

directline still havent paid me. they cant seem to grasp the conecpt of "fixed sum loan agreement" or "personal loan" the fuckers tried to give the payout to santander today. I put a stop to that.

So I rang santander, gave directline clearence to speak to them. some idiot from directline rang them and they came to the conclusion that its santanders. These people at directline couldnt even tell me if i was able to insure another car with a current claim going through. call centre monkeys.

So i've gotten santander to fax a letter through to directline stating they have no interest and it belongs to me. It has only taken 16 days so far. Idiots.

hire purchase - car belongs to finance company
fixed sum personal loan - higher apr as the finance is personal. personal being the word.

problem is banks like santander put hp markers on cars which they shouldnt. The st has one. apparently its done to "protect their interests" in case I default. But it shouldnt be allowed. They have no legal right to do so. I've googled the subject and many others have a phone battle before the bank/insurance company give in.

I did say to expect a shit cloud regarding insruance companies, and this has reinforced my firm belief that not ONE of them are capable of providing a decent level of service when you come to claim. You pay for a service. You pay because it's the law. You pay so you don't get shafted in this kind of situation. What happens - you get fuck all level of service, which is above the law, and you end up getting shafted.

What other product or service would anybody sit and take this bullshit from??
