what size socket do i need to take the front hub off? tried putting on lowering springs earlier and my said who was doing it said i needed a certain size socket off so i can take the hub off. anyone know please? its the 1.4 model

you dont need to take the hub off to swap the springs mate, do you mean the strut to hub pinch bolt? cos thats 15mm iirc :thumbsup:

i wasnt fitting them mate..thats the way my mate said it..something like..take the disks off.., get the hub off..take off the anti rolls ..then take off the top mount...something along those lines lol

ohh right, ya dont have to take the discs off pal, ya just disconnect anti roll bar droplink and brake hose braket (both 17mm i think) then remove the bolt at the bottom of the strut at the back of the hub just above the cv boot, get a pry bar or summat and lever the bottom of the strut out of the hub, it probly wont come out until you slacken the top mount right off, then once you got the bottom of the strut out just take the top mount nut off. easier said then done to get the bottom of the strut out of the hub as it will be nicely seized in.......let us know how ya get on :thumbsup:

Give the strut hole in the hub a damn good clean after you've take the strut out, and maybe copper grease the strut, just to help the bloody thing back in.

For peoples reference, hub nut size is either a 32 or 30 for early models.

front ends lowered now! doing the back tomorow..i wouldnt really advise 60mm on the front hahaha its a bit low
