Yeah just wires, might take the sound proofing off as thats burnt to a crisp really as well.

It doesn't look as bad as it was :lol: The whole back of my engine bay with big flames. I couldn't believe it!

I tell you what it bloody scared me too, Chris was sitting in the car running the cams in, all was good, 2mins to go and I saw clouds of smoke under the car as I was on my phone texting (i was sitting on the floor next to the drivers door) so I shouted to stop because theres loads of smoke, he said 'nah its just a bit of oil on the manifold, it will be fine), i was like no its on fire! Popped the bonnet to see the manifold on fire, properly on fire too, luckily Chris had water in the back and we managed to put it out.

It was bloody scary to say the least! But the main thing is, we are both ok and the car is ok apart from the loom.

So now a new loom or part of a loom is needed and we will fit that and hope all is well!

blimey!! unless there was a leak from the cam cover on the exhaust side causing some oil to drip on the manifold!

shit man thats crap luck

reminds me when me and my mate went to test drive a car, its battery earth lead caught fire mid drive and scared the hell out of us both, he still bought it lol

think i would have called it a miss at that point personally haha

glad its repairable though


something is deffinately amiss though, oil wouldnt do that...

Honestly not sure at the mo! Could be that but the way its laid out everything was all connected back and resting where it should be so it shouldn't have, the wires were on the manifold but that was more than likely because the fire burnt the plug off the firewall.

Wires are on the way though :) Hopefully swap them over and make sure it doesn't happen again!

Also doing a swap for gloss black front and back bump strips, saves me a job

what manifold is it?

looking at the pic its has separate primaries?, id highly recommend wrapping it this time around!

it should stop things that happen to rest on the exhaust not get hot enough to burn/catch fire,
