Upped the fuelling this evening...

a lad on the td-oc upped his 306 lucas pump 90 degrees... mine is around 120 degrees :lol:
pre-boost hasnt been turned down, need a new screw from a scrapyard pump, as its chewed itself.. so thats on the to-do list.. just to stop it smoking as much and wasting fuel.

4th gear from 40mph, hits 2.5k full boost (around 22psi) and pulls to 85mph, change into 5th and you feel it pull from the daft torque it kicking out... from a standard engine this is world apart...
dont get me wrong, its not a fast engine, its an old 1.8td shitter, but it pulls well!

rr day shall be interesting, standard torque is the same as a 2.0ltr zetec :thumbsup: :lolz:

Well guys, after the RR confirming that I have upgraded the power output of the car..
104.9bhp & 180ft lbs torque @ 2800rpm
(88bhp & 130ft lbs torque @ 2250rmp standard)

To gain much more power out of this engine I would realistically need to fit a better bigger turbo, which would be a pain due to the flanges used for the T2 used on it now.
But I think I have reached a good point, I have decent reliability (it does not overheat when hammering it, which it used to do...) and I have extra grunt, which is very handy at junctions, overtaking etc
And it still gives good MPG.

I have decided that the final push of modifications are due..

# Replace pre-boost screw - to turn the smoke down, as its not needed & a waste of fuel.
# RS2K rear discs - I have poor rear brakes, and the discs are sat doing nothing, easy swap.
# Mondeo 2.0 or 2.5 front brakes - as the standard ones are poor (same as standard si brakes)
# Fit some Si wingbacks - bolt straight in, and a good seats.. mines are dropping to bits.

And thats that.... need to keep it running day to day, and concentrate on the KA Project.

The final phase of the scrote is upon us... just got some st24 front brakes and ordered the rear studs so I can use my set of rs2k rear discs.

Should be enough stopping power... anything is better than what I currently have!!

Also fitted a sun strip to be a chav haha

Roll on Ford fair track time!

oh not a fan of the new dervs? tbh its the only derv i like, nippy too some of them

my mums old chrysler (2.0 VW engine) was nippy, sounded awful though
they just taken delievery of theyre new one now though, a brand new insigna 2.0 160ps CDTI, sounds better and goes pretty much as you'd expect a 160ps torquey diesel to go like, but as ever the revs just die off too easy!

no wonder i hated going from my 1800 to a diesel, mine revs all day long, then you sit in a derv :P 4.5k just is too low :(

id bloody love to experience a petrol turbo
