my mate just bought a vts with running problems, low and behold it was slammed on the back end like over 80mm and bearings collapsed.

lol yup, common as nightfall that, its propably why most VTR's are still on standard wheels as when the bearing goes they dont wanna fuck up nice wheels haha (that and chavs cant afford wheels :P )

i have driven one lou, was crap handles like a boat and floppy suspension, made my lowered 60mm mk4 look like a F1 car round a bend

It must of been a shagged one because they are renown cars for handling, percy is best to ask for this as hes owned both for a respectful time.

it was standard suspension, them as a whole car just doesnt impress me tbh, my idea of them is ruinned by the average chav/boy racer

i dont even wanna give them a chance lol, i know its arrogant

i aint asking percy nothing about a saxo/c2, he thinks the sun shines out theyre arse lol

Just to say I have a rs1800 and my mate has a 106 gti (same thing) with exhaust and filter and I am very ashamed  to say it would prob eat my car on the track and I basically got the same mods

As much as I hate to say it they must not be under estimated as they would surprise alot of cars and I also love fords and don't look at anything unless it has the holy blue oval :halo:

Im a ford head also but a car enthusiast overall so I appreciate what a good car is.
Percy only thinks what he does because he isnt blinded by a badge, listen to what he says about his si, there are no bad words spoken about so he isnt biased.

Just a practical pain lol.
The main issue is age, cars today are completely different, were comparing mk3 fiestas to everthing lol

I made a big post here yesterday explaining why the bearings in the axle go which is that it is usually because of lowering the axle using the notch method, but somebody has removed my post?

And as for the wheels, as long as you replace the axle once the bearings have gone its not going to do any damage to your wheels, just cause uneven tyre wear, the reason people keep the vtr wheels is cos many think they look good

im a ford nut through and through, so far ive seen little reason to leave ford for another make yet, not even briefly, all the cars i come across in a buyers market are cheap enough, and suit my needs, granted up untill now ive been in a heavy fiesta stage, i feel im leaving that slightly now as obviously ive bought 2 escorts lately

but as many theres manufactures i just hate for a number of reasons, citroen and vauxhall are to name a few. and i will probably never touch one in a buyers sence, ive driven a saxo, and a astra D, werent impressed with either of them tbh

other reasons for liking ford are relevent too, like cheap running costs, good to modify and the natural love i have for them, the great shows, great fan/enthusiast base etc etc

but yea your right guys we shouldnt compare them to the world as other cars are simply out of theyre leage, such as newer more modern cars, even though our Si's are aroudn 94/95 plate, the design is 89-93 where as the pug 1-6 is 97/98 design (i suppose)
