made a bit of progress tonight
well i say progress but more of a backward step
basically i got crazy with the grinder and cut the wing off in prep for the body shop to get to the rust behind
as you can see it is very holy lol
i will be doing as much of the prep work as i can to keep the cost low as i will be having the rst of the car resprayed

corrrrrrr nice holes there mate! less weight though

Good progress, it will be like brand new when done.

been a busy boy this week with brakes and getting the car sorted for the bodyshop
i can now see why bodyshops charge so much







looks like its had a slight knock to the n/s corner in the past


i will also be getting a new bonet as the old one is rotton and has been fillered aswell

little update
car went to the body shop friday
went down yesterday to drop off the new bonnet
and theyve started to cut the rot out



you can see why it rots out the area is one massive water trap and just spot welding the skin just leave gaps everywhere for moisture to get into
after discussing with chris about the passanger side ive decided to have the n/s wing removed aswell and tackle the rot on the other side (not as bad a so/s)
my god this car is bleeding me dry

Good progress, and it is all worth it in the long run mate, just think what it will be like when its done and rot free

also had a result at castle coombe yesterday

picked up a front n/s wing (which i was in desperate need of)
a bonnet, n/s rear quarter panel and a complete front panel all for £110 winner

good work and good result!

heres the weekly bodyshop update from friday on my way home from work
front end all off and from what they said wasnt held on by very much either (so not as much time was waisted so less labour cost lol )


the n/s corner where its had the ding this will be cut out and replaced


new front panel fresh from the shot blaster and etch primed


n/s panel removed not as bad as the o/s but still not great

loads of progress this week
poped down the body shop today for my weekly visit
front and is all back together and will be going for filling and priper from tomorrow so it should all start picking up a pace now



old section cut aout and new welded in


one issue that has arisen the replacement std ariel i bought now wont fit due to the strengthening mods
but its not really the end of the world

front arches are being rolled aswell
