Just rolled the fez out the garage to do some work on it. when I started it up and left it running it was smoking a bit I reved it up and it got worse took it for a wick drive got back and you couldn't see anything smoke was pissing out of it. It was a blue/white smoke witch i'm guessing is valve stem oil sills? Any one else had this problem?

Yeah I did with my ZS two weeks ago :D Used all the oil and got a knocking bottom end.

Could be a number of things but I think thats a main one.

If it's valve stem seals it usually clears up after startup. Whilst sitting there inactive, the oil will seep through an damaged seals into the bores, and get burnt on startup. If the smoke is coming out constantly, and THAT bad that you can't see anything, I'd say it's something else. Quite possibly piston rings. Is the smoke white, or bluey-white?

If it's white for sure, I'd say headgasket. If it does have a blue tint to it, there's oil burning somewhere quite bad.

Get a compression test done on the cylinders first :)

Just had another look at it and it's fine on tick over it don't start smoking until I start driving it come to a stop leave it ticking over and it stops. It's not loosing any water the smoke is a blue and lots of it so I'm guessing it's vsor rings or both?

No pressure in the cooling system?

I would put my bet on valve stem oil seals.

right i'v changed the engine put a new cam belt water pump and clutch in new oil and filter started it up and all fine let it warm up fan cut in took it for a drive got back and smoking agen :banghead: i'v had enough of it now and selling it so if any one's intrested let me know?

sounds like a sticking piston ring, if its not been used for a while this can easily happen

Definately your rings mate You wouldn't get that much smoke from bad valve seals

Or could actually be ur headgasket if it's nakered on an oil vain oil could be getting into the cylinders that way, I would say your rings were the most likely
