Apparently the standard air box is very restrictive so the bmc (which is proper forced and enclosed induction) opens it up alot

It's not slow by any means pulled 3 lengths on a zs and that's 1.6 16v

your airbox on that though kris has been modified a bit.

i cut all the ridges out of it and smoothed it out. all it need is tidying up a bit and putting a ITG filter or something like that in it.

i used to talk to a lad on club lupo who had a rosy sport which was RR`d at 114bhp standard. then with a modded airbox, ITG filter and bastuck cat back ity was 120bhp.

also theres a lad from cardiff with a loop sport, BMC CDA
, raceland mani and custom system kicking out 126bhp.

i cant see a scorpion giving 14bhp. they reckon the bastuck group a system is best. 63mm bore over the scorpions 50.4mm (i think it is)

CORRECTION!

fuck me its not that fast considering this...

Suzuki Baleno 1.8 Sport

Maximum power
121.7 PS (120 bhp) (89.5 kW)
@ 6200 rpm

dissapointed now, thought it was a smaller engine, doesnt sound good for that 1.8 engine :(

pretty cars on the outside, boring on the inside though (like most japs cars :( )

the one i "raced" was black with white alloys and lowered, think he lives up Cwmafan since he headed off up that way before i turned off

an arosa with 120bhp probably would leather your fiesta, horse power to weight and all that.

As said I doubt and a scorpion exhaust will gain 14bhp, with that a wider bore doesn't strictly mean more performance as you can lose back pressure.

you may beat it on a long straight jony, but i`d like to have seen you stay with me through the twisties in it.

as for them balenos, never really seen one go, i always thought they was 1.6.

your fiestas gona be around the same power as an rs1800 yeah? which do 0-60 in around 8 secs. lupo gti is 125bhp and they are around 8 secs as well. so 120bhp arosa aint gona be far behind it, plus its lighter than a gti as well.

you cant really compare it though, you got a 1.8 and the arosa is a 1.4 like..

well the arosa is 910kg .. somehow its 100kgs less than a gti, so its pretty bloody light coonsidering its got 4 airbags and abs and all that stuff on it compared to the old fiesta which is around 960 kg.

jony engine power doesnt mean the be all and end all, a Vts would hand your ass to you although 120bhp the engines are insanely revvy, Go up against a 1.0 charade turbo, see what happens :P

Jony an exhaust system barely makes a difference to most small engine cars, nothing noticeable really. Yes, mine too. Might free up a few BHP but its not suddenly going to go from 120 - 140 with an exhaust and induction..

That scorpion cat back really going to give you 14Bhp? Scorpion are a top brand, but that seems a little extreme.

How much an exhaust can free up greatly depends on how restrictive the original is.

A good example is the gains on a ST form swapping the flexi, the original is so restrictive it helps massively.

As for the standard exhausts on the fiesta in general there isn't much to be gained (as with most cars), how restricted the stand exhaust is on the arosa is another question to which I don't know the answer.
