cover the threads and the adjusters, also around where they will "slide" into the hubs.. I say "slide" because avo coilovers seem to be a TIGHT fit and require some bitching to make them fit :lol:

currently prepping everythign and spraying it. wheels have come out OK and i emphasise the ok, look amazing at a distance like. springs sprayed, look shit, coilovers sprayed, look shit also but arsed, just want them all together!

started off as a shit day. hadnt built up the suspension, mate jibbed me last minute, didnt have all the tools so yeah, hasnt gone to plan.

managed to build them up, put the rears on, had the wheels sorted, rears on also, but just got to the front and thought to myself 'fuck this'. having got the tools as i have stated, not got much time left in the day, and just though ive bit off more than i can chew, dont feel confident at all. so lads at my garage round the corner told me to bring it round in the morning and they will finish it off.

so pissed off with myself its untrue.

yeah i know but i was replacing lower arms and all :( dont have a torque wrench or nothing, and everything looked soo rusted together it was like fml !

thanks danny mate, i did have a fair idea, just thought it wouldnt take me too long! dont have a free day from now hence why im taking it round the corner tomorrow. gutted but id rather them do it.

but omg! looks absolutely amazing with the wheels on a lowwwwww. will post pics in abit.

however, i noticed a bit of play in both rear shocks, methinks ive put them round the wrong way. looking where the damper setting nob would be, i rotated them so the would be on the inside of the car? again, ill post pics once they are uploaded to explain.

you mean where the strut fastens into the hub there is play left to right?

have you forgot washers or something?
are they standard shock bottoms wider than urs?
is there anything on them that would make urs fit?
check EVERYTHING mate before you start paying labour charges

There shouldnt be any play there. What condition was the bushes in? And did you check to see if they was the right size bushes? Because you know the metal centre bit, well that might be too small lenth wise from what I am gathering from what you put. If you can get a pic/vid then I will know for sure. If it is too small, either space it out with washers or get a new one from avo.

And your car can go lower than that ;) lol.

If the shocks are loose in the hub then it sounds like they are mk3 shocks and not mk3.5, the gap will be around 1.6mm
