I have a Si and I have just swapped the power steering for manual.I have got the new rack and colum in but am still looking for the alternator bracket.
Now I see that you can use the bracket from the xr2i 16v with the alternator from same car.
I was looking at this today and is there any reason why you can't keep the Si bracket and alternator,remove the pulley under the tensior and just use a shorter belt.
It seems a easier way to do it.
Any reason why that wont work?

should work with the right size belt mate, and you can just trim all the extra bits that you dont need off the bracket with a grinder
