hi, im new on here, was into novas before but pikd up my si as a cheap runabout after a ban, n im startin t like the fiesta. iv gt a few ideas wot id like t do but question is do i carry on wi the 5 dr fr sumin difrnt or gt a 3 dr t build. the 5 dr is a gd clean car n i hvnt seen many clean 3 drs around were i live fr a wile. i no this next question probly sounds stupid but i no u cn put 2i arches n skirts on the 5 dr, so r the cars the same length? jus cos my mate is a welder n he cme up wi the idea of getin 3dr quarter panels. wud they fit?

Im sure 5dr is longer, you have to mess with arches to get them to fit, not sure how but there is a guide on fiesta guides.com

I personally prefer the 3dr but that doesnt mean you should give up on it as there are some really nice 5drs on here.

Since its the 1.6 you have you'll be able to put a silver top 2.0 mondeo engine in, just swap all ancilleries over like water pump etc.

yh wz gna go dwn the 2litre route cz thts wat i had in the nova but a few folk hv sed the 1.8 is a stronger unit? seen the arch guide, thnk im gna do it t mine cz it cme wi 2i bumpers on it.

1.8s meant to rev better with rs1800 cams to get it to 130spec but 2.0 has abit more bhp at 136 and more torque so id go with that plus id rather spend money on a 2.0 rather than a 1.8 given the choice as theres more power to be had overall adding fast rod cams etc.

You should get a project thread going and some doesnt pics of the nova, would love a red top in our corsa lol.

The 5dr and 3dr are the same length but the doors are shorter, to fit the rear doors the door is intergrated into the rear arch so to fit the xr2i arches to a 5 door you have to cut an inch or so off the rear arch and fix it to the door, then fill in the resulting gap on the frame. or another method i have seen is to cut the door slightly (this option always seemed crazy to me which is why i did the first option)

definitely 2ltr it. Ive gone from a 1.6 to a 2.0ltr and there is a lot of difference between them (speedwise) and the fiesta can handle the extra speed (just not off the line in 1st gear, you will lose 4/5 of your front tyres).
The gearbox will sound like its having a tantrum at the higher speeds but just turn the music up and its fine.

Quite surprised the 5 door isn't longer my 1.4/1.1 felt like a longer car to the 1.6/2.0.

The door is easier to cut and provides a better more factory luck finish. You're only going to take the dual layer shape off the edge of the door and then seal the edge properly.

what bumpers are you after? i have a full set of xr/rs bumpers, arches and skirts, i've also got some pics of my 5 door fiesta with the skirts and arches on, i'll try and get them uploaded for you

What I would do is...
Drop it 40mm on 15's
Fit poverty spec bumpers front and rear
Si/RS top spoiler
2.0ltr or RST engine it.
Proper sleeper

But if you have to, I would just mod the kit to fit the rear door instead of cutting the actual door. And use Si bumpers not XR ones.
