I'd fit a bonnet scoop and keep the standard intercooler because its a bastard for space to pipe a front mount intercooler in, specially if you have aircon which i think you will have being a finesse?

Boost gauge is easy.
Get a nipple


drill a hole in the left side of your intercooler, and fit it

plumb the boost pipe from that, through the dash grommet for the speedo cable and into the boost gauge.. wire in the 12v and neg wire for the gauge lighting into the back of the clock :)

Take intercooler off, clipped onto turbo on right hand side and a 10mm bolted clamp on the left hand side.
I washed mine with thinners :lol:

The only turbo upgrade I know of would be the early TD engine, exactly the same but minus the "Endura-DE" electronic emmisions shite.. those engines used a slightly bigger turbo, and most used a Bosch fuel pump (which is better)
All the early TD escorts had that turbo, but finding them seems to be abit hard now, because they quickly phased them out for the smaller turbo for less lag.

You could fit other turbo's fairly easily, they are Garrett T2 turbo's so I would imagine the bolt pattern is the same for alot of others.. maybe just issues with space due to it being near the bulkhead/brake bar/ brake servo!... you could also go for a hybrid turbo, but that would cost more than what you paid for your car.

I'm on the look out for a new turbo I think, because its started making an odd sound, I think I cooked it :lol:

Lol no lowering for me, I want this to be user friendly, got .my eyes on a Tim boost gauge, bought the nipple and keeping my eyes on a single cheap pod
