I've had 2 2.0 Si's and 220 to a tank is about right, especially if it is town driving. Could be worth checking the lambda is reading right as I found this had the most effect on bringing down my MPG figures

I get about 220 out of a tank on the Pulsar, although it does have a 50 litre tank. My Fiesta used to do about 320 to a tank!

40 or 42 isn't it? 42 sounds more familiar...

Jesus! Didn't realise they took so much. Mines 50 Litres. According to forum buffs, the fuel light comes on when there is 10 litres or less in it. Would make sense as I've struggled to ever fit more than 40 litres in.

Wouldn't want to test it though

But generally what I'm getting as it that it's difficult to really gauge true MPG, it will always be a *rough* figure to an extent.

Reckon we need some carbon fuel tanks with a perspex window on one side

 Awesome! I want a camera in mine so I can have a look when I'm driving

Best way to get your true MPG is to fill it up, do some miles, but don't run it empty, and then fill it up again. Count the litres it takes and see how many miles you got to that mpg. It's too innacurate doing it from an "empty" tank as it could vary greatly from when you last filled up :)

Fiesta tank is 42ltr
When I was running a 2.0ltr on a derv box I was getting around 360 a tank, and that was with mixed driving.
Remember my mate seeing 400 miles a fair few times with same setup.
RS1800 + RS1800 box the best I could get was 290.

Escort is a 50ltr and does around 480 a tank :)

how the hell do u get that many miles lol
I dont exactly race around ive just put another £30 in last night endin up since thursday putting about £80 in total in a week??
About 55 litres altogether they need to make it £1 a litre :p
It is very tempting to take off the cone filter as it probably rinses petrol but it sounds so good :D

I don't look at it in terms of £ due to the prices changing so much.

Both my RS1800 and 2.0ltr engines would do that MPG easy.
I used standard exhaust/egr setups & 4-2-1, with/without CATs
Cone filter was always on.

Was mainly down to the Diesel gearbox ratios

lambda is knackered wasn't sure but ran it to garage round corner for them to have a poke and it's not good. I think the car running how it was just took it's toll on the componants as the guy who did the engine swap clearly CBA to complete it properly.
it's getting there, now at the stage of replacing broken parts :)

although my mpg is nothing compared to the BMW on saturday that pulled off and lost half it's tank contents out if his exhaust :lolz:
