So this is what I went and got on Saturday.
Originally went out to buy a 172/182 at a dealer down the road but both had sold.
This dealer had the 197 and the 197 cup but preferred this one as it has the extras not included in a cup + a panaromic roof, extra tints etc so its quite fully loaded.

It had a few things that need sorting before I take it (dink in the bonnet, scratch by the wheel arch, 2 stone chips on the front wing and the front brembo brake pads where half worn) So thats all getting fixed and replaced before I pick it up to bring it home.

Anyway here are a few pictures I grabbed just as I was leaving (It only just occured to me to get some ) and some off the site.








So thats my Clio. Now just got to wait till the 2nd to pick it up after the works are finished on it

That looks amazing, I hate to say it but I can seeing you losing interest in the si when you take it for a spin lol.

Great choice though, I bet its great on the bends!

Test drove it on the day and it is a bit wow but the brakes are so sharp even half worn!
I guess thats why it has the Brembo 4 pots on it, they are needed but its a completely different beast to the fiesta.
I don't think I'll ever lose interest in it as my partner wants it after me so we shall still be using it. I'm hoping to keep the insurance running on it for the rest of the year so I can use it for meets and ford fair at least but again it will depend as this needs to be taxed so I need to get a cover letter from insurance faxed to the dealer by next week for them to tax it for a year and I don't get paid till the first

Although saying that my partner is going for a Seat Leon Cupra 2.0 TFSI 240 hp next year after he has built up his no claims in the fez as he is older he can afford it earlier.

I kinda had a hand in that one too


Ry yeah that was on fifth gear it was the matt black RS500 that it was up with.
They also put it up against a mini cooper S (john works edition)

Same I've always had thing for the RS Clios.
At least its 4 years of almost hassle free driving as it comes with a 4 year warrenty covering all but perishables (brakes, tyres, exhaust and Cat)

Its always the best bit about newer cars, I have had 3 years problem free with the C2 now and love it.

it's only cause of the warrenty. these like to drop their gearboxes! (or shag the syncros) so need to find out if it's got the TL4003 box or the TL4024 box as the newer revised box sorted the problem.
if not I'll have to see about getting a 200RS or a megane RS box in it.

70mph @ 3250rpm in sixth gear is crazy (but about what I put up with in the fez)
and the 200 box has bigger 5th an 6th ratios as does the megane.

yeah Percy the power in the Clio kicks in at high rev between 4k and 5k

I'm used to it in the fez, just turn the stereo up and it's gone (so have my eardrums )

but that's why a 200 or megane box would be a replacement as @70 is about 3k rpm and 2.5k rpm.
