well some progress has been made,

currently my main car loom is now in the hands of excursion
as the plan was to remove unwanted cables from the loom, aswell as removing fords pats system
so that theres no complications later on in the build and i already have a good alarm/immobiliser system

also i've had paul cheshire down to discuss/measure the pectel engine loom,
he'll also be sorting the rest of the original engine bay loom with braid (lights etc)
as it looks a bit messy at the moment

i've put the exh manifold and turbo on to see how much room i'm left with..............
not alot

the main compressor housing would be mega close the radiator
and the down pipe would be mega close to the front lower crossmember

was going to change the manifold later on for a less restrictive tubular style once i'd got used to the power,
as this would let me use the full boost throughout the rev range
but as i want to keep the factory bonnet latch / dont want bonnet pins
so looking into different manifold

been a while since i updated this,

firstly got hold of some extended plug leads so i can move the coilpack
with the big help of luca, thanks mate

next up as the main car loom was looking rather chunky
there were a few things i wanted removed,
mainly the pats system and all associated items to do with it
also the airbag wiring
so i trusted the loom with a good mate (mark stewart)
heres some of the removed wires

next up was dropping the main car loom now its been on a diet to paul cheshire
as i wanted the visable loom in the engine bay covered in braid to match the pectel harness i'll be having soon
with a very quick turnaround, paul has done a pukka job
the blue labels are only temporary incase i have a blonde moment

paul also done my fog/driving lamp loom
it really does freshen up a 15 year old loom
very happy and would reccomend him

when paul came down to sunny south wales to measure up the pectel engine harness, we spoke about the possibility of one his tubular manifolds
as my current s2 manifold was not only a big restriction on the engine's potential,
but makes things look for tight for room later on for intercooler and radiator

so i've decided to go for it, its tubular with back perge welding that looks spot on
and tasty 4-1 collector!!

heres some pics on pauls own engine, once i have the manifold and decide on the final postion of the turbo, the pipework can be finished from the collector
to the t3 flange

going back to the car loom
when mark was removing things he asked if i wanted the heated front screen removing, as i did'nt realise there was one,
he went on to mention he had a spare heated screen loom
so a deal was done and recieved this today

new heated front screen to be ordered very soon
great to add this to the spec of the car,
not that it will ever be out in the frost haha

no real plan,
just taking things as they need to be done

money holds me back alot, but i'm not getting into debt over it

main thing is to have the doors, bonnet, tailgate, bumpers and bodykit painted and fitted in the next few weeks
so i can get it out of work

I'm thinking the same with my other RS, there is no rush and with this one, I wont have as much time available. Weekends only from now on, and that involves a hefty commute on a friday and sunday too
