What are your reasons for choosing an Si as your prized chariot?

Mine is simply because a mate at work was selling it and I wanted something small to learn in, ended up loving the car and then found this site,

Mine is because my old car was a fiesta, little 1.3 hcs and I instantly fell in love with it when I saw it and then bought it, then I liked the Si look over the RS/XR look because it was more modern so made the little 1.3 into a replica... then, that died and I loved fiestas so much, I got myself my current car which is a proper Si.

When I was younger one of then neighbours had one and I thought it looked great then years later my mate had one and was selling it so I bought it and found this site.

I started off in an L reg LX and when that was wrote off I had been eyeing up the Si because I just loved the way it looked compared to other MK3s and went and brought one.
I loved the way it drove (although the 1.4 had a bit more body movement then the 1.6, you could really feel it shake on motorways)
Then I found this site and realized just how much can be done to it and kept buying Si' every time I got a new car.

Poor Orange Si is hurt. Started first time after sitting for 3 weeks and with virtually no petrol in it

i had driven by my Si for weeks in my Escort LX that i had at the time and just loved the colour. did look at a 3 door 1.4 Si before the one i got but the dealer wanted more for a car with higher mileage
the Escort was a bit gutless so i thought i gotta have that Si and i traded the LX in
that was back in 1996 and i still have the little fez that i have grown attached to over the years now and she always turns a few heads when i take the fez out which gives you a nice feeling. driving a car that is well over 10 years old now but looks as nice as it did when i got it makes you feel good too

Had my Fiesta mk4 and wanted something more gutsy and comfy, i was around fiesta sites and ended up at a few meetings and liked the way an Si looked modern inside and out for a mk3

So i went for one and collected it from Gloucester near my relatives and drove it down to them and instantly fell in love with it, everything about it, plus it looked more modern than the older XR2is and i couldnt afford a turbo

I then came onto the site with my new car and been here since, to think what i would of missed if i hadnt, especially all the gayness :gheeyyy:

I bought my first Si back in around 1997/1998. I loved the round front bumper with the round fogs cause at the time all mk3s looked like xr2i or classics so this look different and refreshing and cause they were new I could get one that wasn't ragged and low milage. I ended up buying my black one for Â£7500 with about 10k on the clock. When I drove it off the forecourt it put a smile on my face that's not been matched in another car yet. Was scrapped after 10 years of ownership and a big part of me wishes I didn't and just spent the extra restoring it :doh:

After a year of driving my 1.1 ash black fiesta an ash black SI came up for sale locally and my insurance allowed it so I did it!

I bought mine back in May 2006 for the wheels, bumpers and spoiler to put on my 1.1 5 door that I learnt to drive in

I was insured on the car to drive it from Stockport home but the insurance was a three day ordeal which meant I was insured over the weekend too with picking it up on a friday. Drove it about all weekend and completely fell in love

Plans changed, drove the 1.1 standard for 2 years and took the si off the road and did a complete resto on it, and learnt all I know about cars in the process.

She has been a summer car since 2008 up until this year when she has become the daily car, and I love it as much now as I did when I first turned the key in May 2006

my mate had one which was on his drive for months then he had put it on the road look so nice my first car was an si look alike 1.1 and when i seen the car i had to have it was 17 at the time and insurance was pretty good and then when the time came i had to have one i seen one oppsote the park which i was looking at and wanted it and then all of a sudden i seen it advertised in the bargin pages and then i had it, then i had my 2.0 which just put a huhe smile on my face and turned heads great feeling

i had an escort si and always liked the look of the fiesta si
then i had a couple of escort gti's and then a fiesta si 2litre came up close by so i had it
since then iv bught my current 2litre and a 1.1
i have the fiesta bug lol

When I was in my teens I seem to remeber seeing one around the village, completely standard in noveau red with the funky wheel trims...loved it...
Ironically when I set out to buy my first car I wanted a Golf or Corsa or something....ended up getting a 1.1 Classic Fiesta (P reg). I had soooo many good times in it, involving abit of hooliganism (like yanking my exhaust off going over aligator teeth the wrong way).....I found FT, then here and eventually got my Si, which I have now had for agesss (5yrs)

I love mk3 xr's and rs's. Couldn't afford to insure one until I was 21. So an si; 1.4 then a 1.6 was the only way to go. To be honest my 1.6 was a better drive than my 2i. But I loved my 2i more.

ive had mine 5 years...and ive had it in bits now for...probably 3.5 of those :lol:

dont worry boys and girls. its getting the attention of the grinder soon enough. :halo:

i bought it because it was a nice colour..not as shonky as my then current chariot..a sierra...and i could see it as a blank canvas for modification. which is what happened..turbo seats..pop outs...RS 4 spoke wheel...amps and speakers...escos wheels...rear discs...and then it got out of hand...buckets...monsterous roll cage.... lol...and its still happening :halo:

. i joined up here after i bought it and thats been it ever since.
