What year are the mondeo engines used for transplants (silvertop) would a 96-00 be ok to fit to it?

So today it got a good clean and wax, looks lovely now. Also been under it and wow is it clean. From underneath there isn't any rust :O
Also the exhaust rubbers are worn but they are all getting replaced on monday :)

In other news my brother Toledo's boot packed in and wouldn't open. Not good when his partners suitcases for her 3 week trip to Australia are trapped in there with the baby bits!
Couldn't move his sub out of the way (its massive) so bring on the destruction.

Why would you bee looking at engines?

The 2.0 MAF and K&N pipe can go together, warm up the pip and a little lubrication and patience it will go on (and never come off).

Just looking at the destruction pics... was the axe already in the boot... :hmm:

Surely it would have been easier to pop the boot open.

No the ax was from one of my dads many tool boxes.
We tried for 2 hours to pop the boot but his other half and daughter had to catch a flight from hearheow and needed their suitcases.
That was the only option left.

Received the new k&n today and it isn't for a mondeo at all. They sent us the wrong one but after a phone call they are sending out pre paid postage stamps to send it back.

Percy that picture of the Toledo boot looks like it was taken from within the car with the rear seats down. The boot looks to still closed at this point

I have a Toledo and also had problems with my boot but luckily the boot was empty and I could crawl in and get it open. I didnt have a massive subbox in the way like this one seems to have had

Yeah sub box was full length he built it himself so no way of crawling through.

I'm going to buy a mondeo k&n for 1 the filter as mine us old and gunned up, even after numerous cleans. 2 to have it actually fit the MAF I can use the banana pipe that I have (2 currently) and go from there. Its the MAF that is really causing the aggro.

Thinking it might be easier to just buy a new filter top and some silicone/rubber hose and adapt it from there though.

So really you just need a new cone filter, you can buy by diameter rather than model with might be easier.

As for as air flow goes the good old banana pipe is the best you will get really, either forcing it or adapting it is the best option.

I've tried forcing it over but there is no give in it so at the moment it sits inside the MAF with duct tape holding it together. But it restricts the air flowing through it.
